While the life of an artist may not be perilous, it is without a doubt arduous. Creation is, in its very essence, a labor of love, and Heliodoros never fails to place the emphasis on labor. Each piece that he crafts is the product of hard work, of blood, sweat, and tears shed in the interest of making the world a more intriguing place to exist in. If his work does not spark curiosity, if it cannot conjure delight or disgust or simply a great heaving of emotion at all, then he has not given it sufficient time and effort. Such is the simple truth.

His siblings often urge him to rest between projects, but he's rarely inclined to take their advice. None of them understand the relentless stream of ideas rushing through his head, nor the pace he must keep to bring them all into being. And the gods only know what his siblings think about unrealized ideas. They do not see half the value that Heliodoros does, plain-minded that they are.

Still, he must admit. Spinning wheels of clay and smudging watercolors across his claws day in and day out are beginning to produce a sense of monotony. Time as a construct is starting to blend in much the same way his oil pastels do with a delicate, smudging touch.

But maybe that will simply be the subject of his next piece. He ought to explore this sensation further, warnings of his peers be damned.
