I R O N F A N G
"Here's where I used to run with the other hatchlings through town, on our way to the elder's teachings," the shadow-patched pearlcatcher somberly traced the edge of the cracked pathways as she glided along on pale pink wings. Her mate Geodine reassuringly brushed his tail against hers as she sighed, "It's sad to return and see it in ruins like this." She clutched her pearl close to her chest as a shudder ran across her scaly pelt, "I don't even really know what happened. I suppose everyone sort of... went their separate ways? I wish I'd known sooner..." She moved her pearl to her rear clutches and landed softly to approach the buildings on foot.

They moved toward the front of an old schoolhouse, long abandoned and absorbed by the natural elements, "I just wish you could have been there in its prime, Geo. It was such a pretty little schoolhouse, with cute little windows that were low enough for us kids..." She traced the shape of the little square windows in the air, although they'd long been knocked out by storms and vandals. Geodine swirled his lanky spiral body as near to Ironfang as he could, "I know it's difficult, honey, but I can see the passion in the way you describe it to me. It's as if I were there with you, and I wouldn't have it any other way." They snuggled quietly for a moment before the pearlcatcher continued her reminiscing tour through the dusty little town...
