THE PROMPTS I USED TO WRITE THIS. UNFORTUNATELY THIS IS SERAPH'S POV, NOT HERS. WILL DO HERS LATER!

Name: Seraph
(I plan to make him a primal when I am wealthy enough for such luxuries.)

Frozen Seraph

I trudged on as my body ached with pain and sweltering heat, feeling the heat of the entire sun on my back and shoulders. I was not built for this kind of heat. Yes, I was a fire primal, but that didn't change the fact that it hurt so much. That's what you get for possibly angering the most fiery tempered deity on the continent. Maybe it was the fact that my parents weren't used to fire flight costumes. Maybe it was because I was the wrong breed for the job, or any other reason I did not know of. All I knew was that my skin was able to char anything it touched into ash, and it hurt like Flamecaller's breath. The best I could do besides burn my colleagues was to act as an open fire, and that was not what I wanted to do with my life, so I began to seek a balance. A balance that would not set everybody I loved on fire and wouldn't shrivel plants up and immediately combust.

I moved across the lands in search of a mage who could combat my fire, or better yet, eliminate the problem completely. I knew primals were rare, and there was most likely not going to be a cure, but it wouldn't hurt to try. No harm, no foul, right? I don't think the plant life could agree with that, unfortunately. First I traveled to the water flight. There I was able to cool myself down for a little bit, but it all went up in a puff of steam. They offered to teach me how to be a strong swimmer and give me one of their underwater air pockets as a home, but I hated the idea of being underwater or in a storm, and drowning in general, so I politely declined and thanked them for their help before flying off to the last flight I feel would help me keep my cool. The coldest flight in the bunch, the ice flight. Something that could keep its own without rolling off my back or disintegrating into the air in the form of gas. I flew to the Southern Icefeilds, taking as few brakes as possible, for the plants’ sakes.

As I finally crossed the ocean, my wings more tired and sore than I was used to. Tired and not thinking straight, I landed on the Frigid Floes. The second my claws hit the unstable ice I was plunged under, melting through the thin ice. I sunk in faster than a poorly written plot twist and was plunged into the freezing water. The liquid was so cold my flame was doused out immediately, but so was my remaining strength. I couldn’t swim.

As my joints locked up and I froze to death I closed my eyes, only to feel the arms of something wrap around me and I began to rise. I opened water-logged eyes to see the scales of a silvery guardian swimming through the water to lift me up. I blinked at my savior slowly, too sluggish to understand what was going on.

Frostbitten Swimmer - Bora

The white wonder broke the surface of the icy water and I took a gasp for breath. She slowly began to swim towards the shore, my shivering body in her claws. She laid me down on the icy chow, ignoring all the floating chunks of ice I had so foolishly landed on without caution and she watched me closely. The flames rekindled and ignited, blazing around my eyes, but the rest of my body was slow to heating up with it. I lay there shivering, but I was able to turn my head to look at my guardian angel. Two icy blue eyes stared back at me in return. She cocked her head.
“You should be more careful out here. Ice plus water does not equal a good place to swim,” she said bluntly with a voice so quiet and gentle that it didn’t match her size. I nodded, not really able to say much else for I felt my jaws were frozen shut. She stood up and watched the snow around me begin to melt a little bit more as my purple body turned back to its original red and orange hues. Seeing that the fire around my eyes was helping my body warm up she began to walk towards Crags, as I stood up on my own. I watched her walk a bit away before turning around and asking, “You coming?”
I nodded again and followed, my body heat returning to my normal, and the pin slowly with it.

We walked through the icy wilderness towards what I would assume to be her den or a village, silence creeping over us. My jaw had thawed properly at this point, but I was too busy sneaking glances at my savior. Her eyes were glued to the path ahead, her ice gracefully and carelessly gripping into the snow and sleet, although they had an air of caution about them, for reasons I had learned of not too long ago. I tried not to stare, but I couldn’t help it. I had never seen an ice dragon before now, and I had questions and needs.

“So, you’re a fire primal right?” she asked, glancing my way and making eye contact with me, “I haven’t seen fire before, because ice is like the opposite of fire. I’ve only ever heard of it in stories, but stories are stories and they don’t always tell you everything. So what’s it like to be on fire? Can you breathe fire? Why are you here?”
I swallowed, now suddenly unsure on whether my voice would work or not after the plunge. I croaked out a response, “Yes. I am a fire primal, and I can do some of those things. I came here because we are opposites. I need help containing my fire.”
“So if you’re a fire primal, why can’t you control it yet? Isn’t that how you were born?” she asked as we trudged along. I could feel the snow melting away to reveal the delicate world underneath, and most of all the burning aches returning.
“I guess not all are born with the ability to control it,” I said, a little hesitant when picking the answer I wanted to go with, for I myself asked this very question and wished for it to be answered by someone who knew for sure.
“Ohhhhhh. That makes sense…” she thought out loud, “So you said you needed help. What makes you think we can help you?”
Seeing she was just as curious as I, but not half as afraid to ask questions, I quickly explained that I was searching for a mage who could help me with this sweltering heat, or any other solution to help dull the pain at least before she could ask anymore curious questions. She listened, not wanting to interrupt me, despite her obvious curiosity.
“Oh! I’m a mage. Maybe I can help you with your condition. I mostly just do smaller rune magic on the Frigid Floes so the ice doesn’t melt away or drift off too far by carving runes in that freeze them together so travelers are less likely to fall through and into the water. I’ve never seen someone just drop through one before like you did when you landed, especially on that one. I made that one so thick so it was strong enough to hold onto others, but I guess you are the walking definition of fire, so that makes sense that you would sink right on through…” she offered before rambling on about her work in the Frigid Floes, “I normally have to carve them into an object though so the rune is more permanent and the magic is safely connected to the thing I’m enchanting in a physical way. I just find that to be easier then drawing runes in the air, since air isn’t a solid that can hold its shape forever…”
My eyes lit up, in a figurative way this time, as I realized I might have stumbled into my ticket on the first try here in the Southern Icefields. Eagerness and excitement overjoyed me as I became very hopeful very quickly, hardly able to contain it.
“So you really think you can help me?” I asked eagerly, possibly interrupting another big hoard of questions in the process. She looked to me and gave that big old smile of hers that never seemed to leave her face.
“Yeah. Why not? It shouldn’t be too hard to get you a bit of apparel that can last you a long time. I’ve never done this to a dragon before though, so this will be my first time telling something to freeze someone, but we’ll figure all the kinks out! I have faith we can do this!” she said with a big grin.
“Wonderful! Lead the way,” I said. She nodded and we began to pick up the pace.

We had arrived at a village not too long after and she showed me to her den. There she would take measurements and gather together some apparel for her to enchant. The first few runic spells were a little over the top, either freezing me over completely, having to be disenchanted and rewritten all over again, or not frozen enough to stay solid for more than five seconds. Finally, after a few weeks of hard work, experimentation, and some pretty uncomfortable positions with painful surprises, we finally got the right combination with the right hotspots covered in order for me to function like any other dragon. It was weird at first, of course, but it was a fair price for the amount of pain that no longer lingered where the ice touched. I couldn’t escape the pain completely, and the ice was heavy and somewhat uncomfortable, and painfully unfamiliar at first, but as I would grow used to it, I would be much happier and more tolerant of the cold than I was of the blood boiling heat coursing through my veins. There was just one final enchantment left to be created, and that would be the excuse I would use to see this white wonder on a regular basis.
She carved the little rune into the air above my forehead, the symbol of the ice flight slowly growing from a dull darkish blue to a bright, glowing, and icy-blue color. I raised my head to look back up at her as she stepped back to admire her work. She smiled in relief and pride as her enchantments held up, and the experimental air-rune above my head kept its composure.

“There! Now you’ll know if and when the runes are unstable and the magic is dying off, and when to see me. I’m going to keep these as a temporary spell for now until I know for sure they are right for you, so you’ll have to come back every now and then to check up on them or for when they run out of juice. So make sure that air rune doesn’t get too dark in color before you see me again,” she said with a smile, wagging her pointer=claw at me with a caring waggle. I smiled, unable to keep it down, as I felt my first taste of freedom, and I grew more appreciative of my savior.
“Thank you miss… oh. I never got your name!” I said, realizing we hadn’t exchanged names yet since we’ve met weeks and weeks ago. She raised her eyebrows in surprise and slapped a palm to her forehead with a laugh.
“And I never got yours! Silly me! I’m Bora Iceberg. It’s a pleasure to meet you sir,” she said with a smile, holding out her claw to shake. I stood on my back legs and shook her finger, which was almost, if not bigger, than my head. I happily shook it, putting a greeting smile on my face.
“The pleasure is all mine, Bora. I’m Seraph. Seraph Fireopal.”

Short Summary

Seraph is going to be changed into a fire primal and will be Bora's close friend/mate (undecided) who he helps travel all over the continent in return for her help in containing his magic.

Bora is an ice mage who used her excessive amounts of free time to make the Frigid Floes more safe for travelers who mistake them for solid land, that way when she's not there to help they have a few more seconds to react before going under. She's inexperienced, but continues to learn as a self taught magic user. She wants to travel the world, and Seraph helps her with that dream in return for her generosity. They don't stick to one location for long before moving to the next, together.
