Personality
Quiet and self-possessed, Vulnificus is a counter to Nerium's more headstrong nature. He is no less passionate or steadfast, and his composure should not be mistaken for meekness. He did not survive the Trials or the Wasteland through compliance or submission, after all.

His position at the Necromantic Council is a tenuous one at best, reinforced only by the infrequent visits of his master, Caratacus. It is at his insistence that Vulnificus is allowed to continue his residence, so that his abilities may be explored more thoroughly. Vulfnificus is happy to remain at his master's behest, and not unlike Nerium, believes that few others could serve him so well.
Boneyard Tatters
Masks
A symbol of disguise, becoming, guidance, possession, transformation, and legitimacy. Necromancers bearing masks see themselves as instruments of the Plaguebringer and the hand that enacts her will. They are counselors to their clans, ensuring that every important decision is in accordance with Plaguebringer's desires. In some cases these Necromancers are shadow rulers, controlling the clan in secret through a figurehead.
Skeletal Chimes
Bones
A symbol of death, truth, enlightenment, austerity, and divination. Necromancers bearing bones often serve as shamans to their clans. They foretell the tides of dominance, dates of future plague outbreaks, and can interpret the will of the Plaguebringer through signs and omens.
Solidscale Wing Guard
Armor
A symbol of defense, indefatigability, resolution, tenacity, stoicism, retribution, and loyalty. Necromancers wearing armor are holy knights, often serving on behalf of the Necromantic Council to hunt down the condemned who have transgressed against Mother. Charlatans masquerading as Necromancers, unholy necromancers who raise the undead, feral Ghouls, and Lichs are all considered their prey. Necromancers wearing armor will serve without question, and will destroy whatever enemy they are pointed towards.
Uncommon Eyes
Dragons with uncommon eyes tend to be open and easily influenced by the magical energies in their environment. Magic casters find that they have a wealth of power at their disposal if their surroundings match their element, but they can also be severely limited in lands that are foreign to their birth place. Due to their openness, dragons with uncommon eyes are especially suited to the first trial of infection. Their bodies readily accept Mother's Blessing and within days they find themselves riddled with plague. Given this early advantage, uncommon-eyed dragons typically have more time to fight off the plague and learn to control it, though their ability to do so is no greater or less than a common-eyed dragon.

History
A dragon of uncommon strength - both in magic and in will - Vulnificus speaks little of his life prior to the Trials. Or of much of anything, for that matter. He will sometimes refer to his past, to a clan of strength and power, and of a failure to live up to expectations. Though some believe he is simply obliquely referring to the Necromancers.

It is known that he returned from his Trials a Wraith. He had neared failure - becoming a Ghoul - when a Necromancer stepped in. The disease that wrecked his mind and body neutralized, he was left as something neither Necromancer nor Ghoul. A creature with no caste and no future.

Vulnificus will admit to bitterness, and the belief that it may perhaps have been better for him to have been left to be tormented by the Plaguebringer's disdain until the end of his days. Such were his thoughts, when he came upon a clan in the Scarred Wasteland suffering from plague. He stayed with them, caring for their sick and dying. A part of him hoped to be infected himself, to finish the job the Plague Mother had started.

He was not. Vulnificus began to wander the Wasteland, seeking out epidemics and plagues hoping to become infected. He volunteered to see to the sick and dying, and to handle their remains after their deaths. Yet, he was not infected. It seemed he was immune.

His bitterness faded as he wandered, replaced instead by compassion. Rather than seek out infection, Vulnificus began to seek out these clans to help them. This was how he met the Necromancer, Caratacus. He is not proud of how he comported himself those first meetings, but eventually, Caratacus was able to get him to listen. And learn.

He returned with Caratacus after showing him some little of what he managed to retain from the Trials - something the Necromancer, in all his travels had not yet seen before. He was left in the keeping of Nerium, Caratacus' Necroservus, to see to his needs and provide him with chores to keep himself occupied.

He has remained, at the sufferance of the Council, letting their displeasure wash over him not unlike the waves wash over a rocky beach. They may not like it, but it was what his master requested, and so they must abide.
