"The sky is my home. My birthplace may be that of trees, but the sky is my true home."

Ace’s egg was laid on a fresh, crisp spring morning, on a small bank of marsh grasses and moss. When his sibling’s egg was deposited next, Ace’s egg was bumped just enough to roll down the bank, into a narrow bubbling brook at the base of the slope. Ace’s egg was washed down the creek, bumping along the smooth, pebbled bottom.

His egg eventually wound up in a open area of leaves and grass, where it was snatched up by a mother crowned roc, mistaking it for a fallen egg from her own nest. Placing Ace’s egg alongside her own, she brought his egg to term alongside her babies. When the eggs hatched, she immediately started teaching them how to open their wings and begin flight. Roc growth is very fast, while imperials take several years to come to full maturity, so when the mother roc encouraged her babies to leave the nest and begin flying, Ace was left behind at first. The roc babies flew circles around Ace for several weeks before he finally stretched his wings and left the nest for the first time.

The air currents were strong, and supported his young body easily as he learned to use his wings. Once he mastered the operation of his wings, he hardly ever landed in the nest again. When Ace was taught to hunt along with the other rocs, he started feeding himself and growing to monstrous proportions. His length increased fivefold, and compared to his “mother,” Ace was massive. When the babies finally left the nest for good and the mother returned to her original, active lifestyle, Ace struck out on his own. Spending most of his time in flight, Ace’s skills developed further.

Soaring above
One can only feel love
For all the towns below
A labyrinth of trees
Surrounded by cobalt seas
An ace soars around
Feeling as though the king of the town
Truth justice and joy
All come with flying

Ace is one fresh dragon! His crisp colors and apparel choices complement each other greatly!

I absolutely adore the color scheme you used for this boy! Everything on him matches very nicely and the natural feel that is given to him through his lore only continues to prove this. A dragon born and raised in leaves and grass after being washed up on the shore certainly sounds worthy of some calming light blues and greens.

Unfortunately, the blandness of his genes sort of ruins it a bit for me. I have nothing against iri/shim/belly dragons, but with all the activity that his apparel hold, the genes just don't hold up to par. They fail to activate space in the same way and the shimmer contrast sort of messes with blending of the color scheme too as the color hue changes. Just isn't my cup of tea I guess.

I saw from his profile that I'm not the first one to pick Ace, but what I like is that his simple color scheme is complimented and highlighted by the apparel. I've honestly never seen a better matched or more well-thought-out combination with the Learned Sage Lanterns. The gradient on the grove sylvan apparel perfectly matches his emerald wings and obsidian primary.

Emerald is one of those colors I have a lot of trouble incorporating in my own lair, so I love how well it works here with the apparel and accent combination. Beautifully put together dragon!

Ace is clearly pretty popular but for good reason! His genes and colors go so well together, and that accent! I see it a lot, but not often used well, and Ace is a very awesome exception to that.
Also, his backstory

Love this boy. He really makes me think of the forest spirit from Fantasia 2000. Nostalgia always wins me over. Love his colors, his accent, and the nice bright white belly. Also love the work you've put into his bio so far!
