As a hatchling, StarryNight spent a lot of time watching the warriors of her clan. Their smooth, practiced patterns and ability to communicate so seamlessly drove her to further herself as a ridgeback. This meant she was determined to end up as a fighter like those she looked up to. That was a long, long time ago. Now, StarryNight is a full-fledged adult, bringing others into the mire to train them and seek their own potential. Her hatchling dream became a reality as she set off on her own into the world, coming at last to rest in the realm of the Gladekeeper. There, she truly came into her own and found her place. Among the other members of the clan, StarryNight is looked up to if not for her battle prowess then for her pride and integrity. Very little in her life is as important as keeping her fledglings and students safe while she is teaching them. Sometimes this means she has to use harsh techniques to keep them from coming to harm, but very few of her students have ever taken her sharp words too deeply. She barks them out of concern, not malice, even if her words sometimes cut. Although she is not likely to apologize outright for her actions after the fact, she has her own roundabout way of apologizing that leaves the offended dragon feeling better about their relationship. Of all the dragons StarryNight has trained, Noxia might be her favorite. When the pair first teamed up to fight, StarryNight had her work cut out for her. Noxia was hardly more than a hatchling when she took her first steps into the mire. Over several months, the pair polished their fighting techniques until Noxia had almost crested StarryNight's own abilities. Now her equal, Noxia and StarryNight are incredibly close friends. They're frequently seen together around the clan when they're not in the mire. Despite all of her careful planning, not everything bad can be stopped by sheer vigilance. Scars crisscross her body from old wounds, most of them taken while defending a younger dragon under her tutelage. Although most dragons might hide their scars, she allows them to be seen, especially by those she is training. She uses them as real-world examples of why one must always be alert in the mire, where tragedy can so easily strike.
