Most fire dragons have an instinctive connection to precious ores and rare metals. Something in them resonates with such treasures, sensing a desire to be molded and shaped in the fires they wield. Eligos is no exception. He's always felt a connection to precious metals. And precious gems, and precious ores, and treasures of all kinds. Specifically, he's felt that they ought to connect with his paws, as many of them as possible, and it doesn't matter what he has to do to get them.

Eligos never considered himself a thief. No, thieving implied he was taking something he had no right to take. But the way valuables just called to him, begging him to take him, he was really just a plunderer, taking advantage of the earth's bounty and the bounty of other dragons' treasuries alike. Although he could rob dragons directly, and sometimes did, ambushing them when they traveled alone through the remote parts of the Ashfall Waste, he preferred an indirect path. He had an uncanny ability to sense where collections of precious metals and other treasures were in large amounts, no matter how well hidden they were. He dug his way to plenty of treasure, whether it was a secret tunnel into a clan's treasury, an uncovered cache, or even the plundering of the riches of a long sealed tomb. He favored treasures that belonged to no dragon, or dragons long dead since they were less likely to put up a fight, but he was willing to take anything he thought he could get away with.

However, one day he got in over his head. By luck, good or bad, he snuck his way into the treasury of a clan who was more than used to dirty tricks, enough to catch even a clever thief who'd avoided pursuit until now. More so, they meant to keep the location of their lair a secret, and were prepared to get rid of an errant thief to keep it that way. But Eligos had heard rumors of a clan, their lair a well-kept secret, who covertly influenced happenings around the Ashfall Waste to keep the peace. Working on nothing but an assumption and some quick talking, he managed to convince them that if they would give him a trial period, he would put his skills to good use for the benefit of their clan.

Although he was closely watched for his trial period, Eligos soon managed to gain the trust of his new clan. He was tired of his solitary life. What point was being the best in the region if he didn't have anyone to brag to about it? Besides, if he could be caught once, he knew he could be caught again, and next time he might not be so lucky. He'd rather have a clan like this on his side, if that happened.

Eligos continues to use his skill at plundering, sneaking, and even fighting for the good of the clan, and the clan's treasury. Despite his solitary past, he's social and good-natured, if a bit rough around the edges. He's happy to befriend other members of the clan, and particularly enjoys the company of other mirrors, as though to replicate the experience of a mirror pack. For a thief, he's terrible at dissembling, and has a rather paradoxical reputation as being honest to a fault. He does have a tendency to make off-color jokes, but also makes sure his new clan knows that any jokes about taking their things are just that. He's gotten into his fair share of trouble outside the clan when he's unable to keep his itchy claws off a piece of someone else's valuables, but that's another story entirely.
