B I O G R A P H Y

Main Theme: Nicotine by Panic! At the Disco

______ Salem was a mercy, cut off from the Plaguebringer and desperate for that connection. So she fell to the shade's temptations, reaching for that feeling desperately, and giving herself to the shade. Guided by her new master she wandered the world, eventually running into Procel. She fell in love fast and hard with her fellow Infested Mercy, and still loves him with that same intensity to this day. But soon she realized the truth of the shade and began to try and free herself of it. She said things she regrets to Procel. Lies, and she knows it. And she fled to find a way to purge herself of the shade. But it is a seductive force, and she always comes crawling back to it, and to Procel. Not that she minds the latter, Procel is the only good thing in her life besides her children, and they still come from him.

Salem snarled at the spiral and stalked away. He wouldn't chase her or fight with her, and that hurt more she'd admit. Procel was too loyal, too forgiving towards her. No matter how much vitriol she spewed at him he'd take her back the moment she relapsed.

She had a sneaking suspicion he'd take her back even if she stopped relapsing.

Her sweet Procel deserved far better than her. Far, far better. And yet selfishly she clung to him, playing this hot and cold game that neither of them wanted. It broke her heart when she'd come to her senses only to find him draped around her neck in their nest, or when she caught his sad eyes as she fled like the coward she was. And the look in their hatchlings eyes, she felt like a true monster right in that moment than she ever had as a mercy or infested.

It almost made her stay.

But she was a coward and lied to herself, and so she fled like she always did. Her heart filled with heavy regrets.
