Spider Lily

The second male Veilspun introduced to the clan by Queen Drauphnyr and he was ever the charmer, but the way he played with his admirers was quite a different story. How fitting it was for him to have a Valentine hatchdate.
The Queen granted him the name Lycoris, a name derived from the Spider Lily. Drauphnyr told him the Spider Lily is symbolic of the afterlife. Due to contrast of colors and personality, dark and light, they reminded her of that fact.
This is not a negative thing. Your looks can entrap unwary lovers, your personality can spike them with thorns, but you decide whether to take advantage of that.
He never forgot her words but he was a torrent to the single females anyway, emboldened by his manipulative power. It didn’t matter if the females were his breed or not, somehow they didn’t care if they couldn’t bear children with him. He went around like a hurricane, leaving a trail of broken hearts in his wake. He loved the thrill, the emotions he could elicit both joy and then pain. It had to end in the heartbreak of the female and that filled him with joy, the power he could destroy them with.
Then she joined the clan. Queen Drauphnyr took in the first female Veilspun and she was gorgeous. Lycoris was immediately drawn to her, but he felt different about this one. He didn’t want to manipulate or hurt her, he couldn’t pinpoint the emotion and it confused him. He looked to the Queen for assistance, but when her eyes met his, she gave no indication of what she was thinking.

He looked back to the beauty and she caught his stare, but soon looked away as if she had no interest in him at all. This confused but also... excited him? He did not know. Normally females would swoon at the sight of him, but not this female. He would have to work for her affection and now this meant he would have to fight with the other males who were already showing their desire for her. He felt a little angered by the way the males were looking at this new beauty, jealousy.
The Queen finally gave him some sort of sign with a side glance and a slight devious smile as if to say, good luck. His reputation was well known in the clan and he knew it would spread to her very quickly, much to his dismay yet it was by his own doing.
He sought counsel with the Queen later, asking what his feelings should mean and why she brought such a beautiful Veil.
You’ve caused a lot of heartbreak. I’m merely showing you there is more to life than these feeble flings you keep going on with. I cannot pinpoint your emotions for you, but they’re most likely along the lines of infatuation, hopefully you’re enamored. I did pick her out for you specifically, if you notice her colors are similar to yours.
Lycoris pondered on this and asked, What’s her name?
Drauphnyr shook her head and smiled. Ask her yourself. You’ve had no trouble approaching the young females before, don’t let this one frighten you.

She’s right boy. The only way to truly win the heart of another is to speak to and get to know someone. If you need to build your courage, try leaving gifts first. King Brynn interjected to which Lycoris bowed his head and went home.
The young Veil only ever saw the King from a distance when he would go off and do important tasks for his beloved Queen, but Lycoris heeded the fact that the King’s advice was wise.
