Tornado was born with the blood of explorers in his veins. The sky has always called to him, drawing him away from home to explore, and as soon as he was old enough to leave his birthplace in the Shifting Expanse he set out to see the world. Flying proved difficult, however; an accident in his youth had permanently damaged one of his wings, making long-distance flight hard for him. Undeterred, Tornado found a new solution: an airship.
Inspired by the sight of an airship soaring overhead, Tornado set out to build one of his own. He designed a large craft which he named Invincible, and after several test flights and modifications the ship was ready. Finally, at long last, Tornado was able to explore, soaring through the sky, following in the footsteps of his ancestors.
After a few voyages, however, Tornado found himself caught in a storm over the ocean. His ship was no match for the powerful winds; it was all he could do to keep her powered and in the air. He battled the storm for hours until he collapsed from exhaustion, and when he woke up the Invincible had crashed. True to her name, however, she wasn't destroyed, only in need of repairs, and Tornado was far more relieved about that than he was about his own survival. He was badly injured, however, and couldn't start the repairs immediately; fortunately, he'd crashed near a kind, welcoming Light clan whose dragons were more than willing to help him out.
After quite some time, Tornado was able to set off once again, and although he's resumed his adventuring he still returns to the Lanternlight Clan whenever he's nearby, as he's befriended them and is always welcome to stop by and stay a while.
