Dragon Log

A delver into the Gray areas of magic and the occult, this Pearlcatcher fits right in with the more adventurous members of the Clan... nor is she unwilling to experiment with other versions of magic, when it suits her. She does have a very slight affinity to fire, but her greatest magical potential comes in the "shadow" margins. Perhaps, then, it is no surprise that she attracted a smoke gyre to be her familiar...

10-26-14: Though she is still somewhat new to the Clan, and has not even chosen her name yet, she has found her place fairly quickly--and her first mate, as well. The Maize Skydancer was enamored of her from the beginning, and now they have 5 eggs waiting to hatch....

10-31-14: While most of the Clan was celebrating the Riot of Rot, this Pearlcatcher anxiously watched over her nest of eggs... and that diligence has paid off. She is now the proud mother of five living hatchlings! She is overjoyed to welcome her sons and daughters into the world, and looking forward to what they make of themselves....

11-7-14: After much thought, she has chosen her name. Meet Shadowfire!

1-10-15: The Smoke Gyre has Awakened! This thrills not only Shadowfire, but the rest of the Clan as well. Perhaps there won't be quite so many unexplained fires, now....

1-21-15: Once again, she has attracted one of the "darker" familiars: A Death Seeker, having only just arrived at the Clan, took an instant liking to her....

4-21-15: The Death Seeker has Awakened! Perhaps he will stop attempting to kill all the animals in the lair now....

11-2-15: After the return of a certain dark Pearcatcher yesterday, Shadowfire decided to do some exploring....

The shadows swirled on the path, tinged with a hint of an odd pinkish red fire. As the dragons gathering to look at the prizes on offer began to shift uneasily, the swirls became more definite, coalescing into an actual corporeal form. A moment later a beautiful black Pearlcatcher female emerged out of the darkness, settling her wings back along her spine. A focused observer might have noticed that the color of her wings exactly matched that odd pinkish tinge that had appeared in the Plague-Red fire....

...Shadowfire glanced around herself with interest. So this was where her "son" had been yesterday--and why so many bats had gone missing from the hoard. She nodded. The prizes were, indeed, exciting enough to warrant his harmless mischief--though he really should learn to use the shadows to move himself rather than his loot. Ah, well, he was young. He would learn.

Shrugging, the mage unslung the pack from her back, and dug out a few choice items, which she then offered to the acceptors on duty.

"Could I purchase a few tickets, please? My Clan is extremely interested in your raffle!"

And so Shadowfire found the Spooky Spree Raffle, and indulged herself a bit before returning home to the lair, where, of course, no one had even noticed that she had left….
