 		Astila was born to a small clan in the windswept plateau with an immediate talent in the art of persuasion. As she grew she used her talents to sell things she found when exploring her clan's territory, and amassed a small fortune over the years. While other dragons socialized or honed their claws in battle, she sold her wares. Even the most worthless of items shone through her careful words until the buyer felt thankful for the bargain. She used her large green eyes and soft, innocent voice to draw the buyer in so that they hardly realized she'd practically robbed them as they left.
On one windy day, she found a particularly valuable prize. Unlike the beautiful but useless items she tended to pawn, this emanated power - it was an ancient runestone. While it was displayed at her stand she refused several high offers for the object - something within told her to wait. After several months an old imperial mage perked up when he approached her stand, and from behind his back he produced a leash - and an offer of a trade. A beautiful kitsune, imperious and proud and as large as Astila herself stepped out from behind him, her posture and appearance demanding attention and admiration. They grew incredibly close over the next few months. The kitsune called herself Rita, and though at first her superior attitude irritated Astila, they soon came to see each other as equals. Rather than a pet, Astila had found herself a true friend and companion - and a savvy business partner. The kitsune had a nose for valuable items and a hunger for riches, so their ambitious personalities were perfectly compatible.

After some time, Astila saved up for a large wagon. Rita had agreed (after a long rant about her pride) to pull it. They both knew the image of an exotic kitsune, a mysterious merchant, and a wagon filled with mysteries would draw in more customers than ever before. They set out from Astila's birthplace into the wide world of sornieth, both of them dreaming of riches and success.

After settling in the mystic plateau, Astila met her future mate, Solstianis. She didn't show much interest in him until he offered to work under her in her business - he had experience on a merchant vessel and could expand her reach from the land to the sea as well. They bonded quickly, and now she has a vast amount of power and influence in the trading world - she calls her company 'Ambition', and she specializes in the bulk purchasing and resale of goods, as well as reselling items to parts of sornieth where they're worth more than what she bought them for. In her free time, she, Rita, and Solstianis enjoy luxury and donating vast amounts of treasure into the clan's vault to help feed the several hundred occupants of the mystic plateau.
