Kazatra

"You're going to burn yourself out if you don't sleep, you know."

The primary Necroservus to Khiris, Kazatra was assigned to him by the Council, and she has taken up the symbol of tools after him. Despite initial misgivings, the two get along very well, each balancing out the extremes of the other. Though she will be the first to admit she wishes he would not experiment on sentient creatures, she does enjoy the enhanced night vision that has been a result of her experiences with it. When she is not in her Necromancer's lab or out running errands for him, she can be found both among the Necromancers of the Outpost and general clan members, equally enthusiastic about either group. She is always happy to answer the questions of outsiders, is generally good at smoothing over disputes, and can often be found in the company of Revahari. She and the Mirror Necromancer get along surprisingly well, and the two can sometimes be found spending time together on the rare occasions when they both have free time.

The looks she got, when she showed up that morning to take the Trials, Kazatra will never forget. The sneers afterward when she failed to heal the infected familiar even more so. It is not out of hatred or a desire for revenge that she will remember, but as a reminder of how far she has come. A guardian born to Nature, and she knows the only thing that could be worse in their eyes would have been being a wildclaw. She is almost tempted to find a scroll to help with that, but that would be spiteful.

The Trials themselves she remembers less. Mostly, because she spent the grand majority of those days near comatose and trying not to die. Somewhat because they were less important in the overall scheme of her life than what came after. And only slightly because she's forgetful sometimes. Only slightly!

After, she was immediately assigned to an Obelisk Necromancer born to Plague and living in Shadow, Khiris. The journey from the Wyrmwound to the border was relatively short, and she remembers only that about it. There were others, she knows there must have been because they still live in the Outpost and they remember the trip, but at the time they had mattered less than her anxiety about the Necromancer she had been assigned to. Part of her thinks it must have been arranged as a punishment for daring to attempt the Trials in the first place. Or at least that whoever had made the decision had intended it that way.

They made a mistake. They had given charge of her to a Plague-born, one of the ones likely to have the most disdain for her and her abilities, but Khiris didn't care where she had been born. He was just happy to have an assistant to hold things while he muttered to himself about intricate alchemical formulae. At first, she had been so relieved by his disinterest that she had been more than happy to simply nod along and do whatever he wanted.

Then he had turned around in the middle of brewing something and called for her to take over as he suddenly had somewhere else to be. Unprepared and not really knowing what she was doing, the cauldron had very nearly blown up before Khiris returned to fix it. After that near-disaster, he had insisted that she listen to his ramblings and learn. That had been the real trial.
