When Quickbeam ordered a particularly large shipment of laser parts from the Shifting Expanse, he found an unexpected extra stowed away in the crate. This unfortunate mirror sprung out of the box and began to shout and chatter something about having 'fallen asleep at a bad time' and how he was 'most definitely late, where is the train station!?' before fainting when a leaf fell on him.

While Scatterplot had definitely never planned to move to the Viridian Labyrinth, he was convinced that he would be in very big trouble if he were to return to work this late and started to panic when the topic was brought up around him. Despite everything, he ended up sticking around.

Quickbeam's very tech-filled room became Scatterplot's new home, and the anxious mirror was able to occupy himself by helping with Quickbeam's various projects. Over time Quickbeam helped the mirror become comfortable enough to speak to him, then to other clanmates, and the two have remained close ever since. Scatterplot has even managed to mostly get over his fears of dirt, plants, wildlife, and everything 'nature' - which is just as well, as soon after moving here he began to sprout an unusual pair of very naturey antlers.

Scatterplot and Quickbeam care for Beep pretty much like their own robotic child.
