The Flames completely burned the thorn in a short time, and didn't went out unless Kira commanded them to stop. |

At first, Kira couldn't feel anything except the darkness that surrounded her. As she tried to move, she felt, that there's something murky around her – like mud in a swamp – it was hard to move in, and Kira could hardly tell the directions, but she still made effort to reach the surface of this dark mud-like substance. Suddenly, her head got out to the air, and her claws gripped solid ground. It took some time to free herself from the dark thing, and she had to rest a bit before looking around, and finding out what was that swamp she just got out from. She lied in a huge, dark forest, only small, glowing mushrooms gave some weak light. The trees looked old, they had really dense foliage, which shut out most of the moonlight. A large black pond stretched in front of her – it reminded her of something, but she couldn't recall what was it. She went closer to the lake, and cautiously dug one of her fingers into the dark liquid. Shadows! Realization came quickly, and brought a strong sense of duty with it: she has to search for something. Kira didn't know what or who should she look for, but that didn't matter for her at all. During her search she never left the dark lands – she was sure that the thing she's looking for is somewhere under the Shadowbinder's wings. After a longer period of flying, Kira reached a strange forest – the trees here weren't trees, but thorny bines that didn't let any light towards the ground. Kira was sure that this place is the Foxfire Bramble, which she heared a lot about. She felt a little tired, so she deciced to take a short nap before exploring this place. She flew up on one of the thickest bines, and closed her eyes contentedly. She got woken up by a strong wind. It took her off guard, and she unwillingly opened her eyelids – for her gaze to meet a pair of huge purple eyes. Tiredness left her mind in an instant, she jumped on her feet, and glared into the shadow colored pools with distrust. „Don't be afraid I'm not going to hurt you.” - the pair of eyes moved away from her, so she could recognize the face of a guardian dragon. - „I'm really sorry if I scared you, I didn't intend to do so.” The guardian introduced himself. His name was Rodder, and he was searching for something just like Kira herself. She felt like the two of them were looking for the same thing, so she invited him to join her in this journey. Even though Kira wasn't really able to tell what kind of emotions he was showing, Rodder looked happy to her, and he accepted the offer. The next day, they started to explore the thorny-forest. It was really hard to see anything in the drakness, so they mostly relied on their sixth sense to find their way around in the deep shadows. Kira enjoyed her travel with Rodder, since they had a lot in common, and seemed to have matching personalities. After seven hours of walking they became silent – she glanced at her travelling companion, and was sure, that he felt the same thig she did: their final destination was close. They noticed a faint light, and started to move towards it. Soon, they stepped into a small glade. A narrow piece of moonlight illuminated the area around itself, so they could spot the rare flower at the middle. It looked like a strange lily, but it had iridescent leafes with puplish and shady colors, while it's pearly black petals looked like lava was flowing in the veins. The peak of it's leaves were sparkly light-blue, as if the moonlight has infected them. However the most interesting thing about it was the little orb that was floating right abowe the center of the calyx – it was engulfed in strange black flames, and the middle of the orb was glowing with blood-red light. In an instant Kira understood: they found what they were searching for! She jumped down from Rodder's shoulder, and slowly approached the flower. As she went closer, she made certain that her senses didn't play with her – she could clearly feel, that this plant had highly developed mind, that didn't fit for a simple lily, so she called out to it: „You're not just any kind of flower are you? I think we're searching for you.” - she stopped in front of the strange plant, and observed it curiously. „You're right, I'm one of the children of the Shadowbinder. I'm sure she heared my wish and sent the two of you here!” - Kira heared these words in her mind, and as she looked at Rodder, she saw, that he sensed it as well. Kira and Rodder started a conversation with it, and spoke about many different things. The flower's name was Ashmore, and she born from the shadows similarly to the two of them. On top of that, Ashmore had a really unique power: she could give dragons the ability, to use the Black Flames she was entrusted with. Ashmore gave them this blessing, and every other dragon that joined them later on. Kira became the former leader of their clan, which grew bigger with time. The real head is Ashmore, but as long as she's a flower she cannot do everything that would be the duty of the leader, so she entrusted Kira with these tasks. |
