Lighthearted | Tranquil | Observant

Wake Me
When her eyes opened for the very first time the world opened out to her, strange and new. She was quickly overwhelmed by the sights, sounds and smells that assaulted her burgeoning senses, yet the trees that surrounded and loomed above seemed to quiet her mind and keep her calm. She could feel their presence in her heart, as though they were always watching over her, it felt comforting, reassuring, and she somehow knew she was safe.

She found she couldn't quite move just yet and when she tried her bones ached. Examining herself for the first time, she could see her limbs were buried beneath the earth itself and she could feel them descending for miles and miles without end, spreading throughout the trees and growth around her, a powerful force coursing through all in a great steady thrum. She was a mere bud in this large web of growth and life, small and infinitesimal by comparison, and her mind was suddenly opened to the entire world, she could see everything at once. Just as the feeling of infinity was about to overwhelm her and send her spiraling back into darkness, she was released from the roots and fell to the jungle floor with a great whump.

She felt a pang of loneliness at the absence of everything, to share such a connection to the world one minute only to be torn from it the very next was a jolting experience and left her reeling. After a few long moments of adjustment she finally lifted her head and examined her surroundings only to lay eyes on the massive tree behind her. For as large as her body seemed to be, still this tree she now faced seemed to stretch far past her wingspan. This massive tree was what she had been attached to, she could feel it still down in her bones. It called to her, as though her mind, body and soul were still somehow attached to its' roots.

Like a crack of lightning she understood clearly, she had to protect and guard this tree. She could feel some sort of force emanating from it, reaching out to her and touching her very beating heart. She seemed to innately understand that should harm befall the giant, looming tree, all that she now knew and the precious life that had been granted to her would crumble away. Her fate and that of this tree at the heart of the jungle were intertwined in a way that could only be felt rather than understood. Only a few minutes had passed, but the Guardian felt she had lived an entire lifetime in those few minutes, her purpose now clear as day.

Nim was the name given to her by the ancient dragon responsible for her awakening, something that could only be achieved once in his lifetime after many, many years of careful study and practice. With this ancient dragon guiding her she began her long and winding journey just beneath the Behemoth, carrying within her very breast the same pulse of energy that courses through the entire Viridian Labyrinth, resonating in an endless rhythm. As long as the Viridian Labyrinth thrives, so too does she. Guided by wise and ancient dragons such as her creator, she has been forged into a leader beyond her years, bequeathed with knowledge and experience far beyond what one dragon alone could gain in a single lifetime. She's proved to be a patient and modest ruler, her devotion to her flight keeping her grounded while inspiring others to join her. Seen as 'The Daughter of the Behemoth' Nim has attracted many loyal followers, those who seek the Gladekeepers guidance are likely to cross Nims path.
