______ Star is the second oldest of his siblings, right behind his sister, Hope. He and her bicker endlessly, and got in many fights as hatchlings, but still love and care for one another. He often misses her, as she left for the kingdom of Elesmouth after her trials, while he became a diplomat for the clan of Malady's edge. They have of course stayed in contact, but the increasing time in-between letters has him worried, and he often begs The Broodmother to let him go set up relations with the kingdom so he can check on his dear sister. A trip Genen was loath to let him go on, but has relented at last. Needless to say Star left immediately.

______ When Star had heard stories of the kingdom of Elesmouth, he had expected thriving fields of crops and lush, golden-leaved trees. And yet, even though it was the start of summer, the lands looked like it was the middle of winter. At first he thought it was snow that covered the ground, but one footstep told him otherwise. It was ash. He hoped it was just a small forest fire, but his gut told him otherwise.

He continued along the road towards the capital, and as he went, the signs of conflict became more apparent. Sundered land, broken trees, and ruined houses all told a rather grim tale. He couldn't help the icy claws of fear and dread that gripped his heart, or that the same dread caused him to walk a little faster…

The capital was in shambles, clearly the worst of the fighting had been here. He shook slightly as he passed dragons attempting to clear the roads and rebuild their homes, occasionally stopping to help wounded with trembling claws. The closer Star got to the Palace, the worse the damage got. Something terrible had happened in Elesmouth, and Star could only pray his sister was alright. As he approached the gates, Star steeled himself. He needed to know that Hope was alright. She had to be, because he couldn't accept any other outcome...
