Stubborn, short-tempered, and wary of newcomers, Talek only warms up to others after they've proven themselves as trustworthy.

When his mate Faelyn left to train, he was internally distraught, making many passive decisions that ultimately led the clan to dwindle and become weak. When his best guard Seyza criticized him for his judgements, he was awoken from his daze and chose to discuss all issues within the clan with Seyza. With the increase in their visits and interaction, Talek became so enamored with her strength and intellect that it led them to become mates. It was not something they showed to the majority of the clan, but it was quite obvious to Faelyn upon her return.

As my progen, he was originally a Stone/Sunshine Mirror.

Faelyn
First Mate to Talek
She was once a shy fae dragon of Ivory and Caribbean , but upon receiving a beastly familiar from Talek, found her inner strength and left to train more extensively.
Upon returning, she was disappointed to find Talek with his newfound mate Seyza, but she quickly regained her status within the clan and they quietly deal with their relationship problems behind the scenes.

The clan comes first, after all.

She's quiet, calculated, and stern.
Most hatchlings dislike her, and adults try their best to avoid her blunt criticism.
She thinks with her head, not her heart.
She believes the clan comes first and knows to hide her disapproval of Faelyn's return in favor of protecting her status.
She describes the feeling as "smothering the embers of infatuation, before the destructive flames of love." She lived without love before and will easily do so again.
