Biography
W O O D L I N G Advisor Loyal | Steadfast | Candid Final Days of Rome |
“Go and bring life to Sornieth.” She had told them, “Bring them the trees, the grass, spread the roots, grow and flourish.” And so he did. Of the first to walk the Labyrinth, Woodling led the way faithfully spreading life with every step he took, just as his deity had asked of them. He had once held every tree between his claws. Seeds and acorns, nuts and young saps, he had held them all to his chest once before depositing them into the soil and watched as they grew, vigilant and protective. He watched over them for years, he cleared diseases and he staved off droughts until his grove became mighty and tall and could fend for itself. The trees and plants that make up this grove are like children to him, each one carefully maintained and cultivated, and so he has come to be known as The Forest Warden. Many faces have come and gone, assisted him in his tireless pursuits, inspired by his passion, but the forest has always been his, feeding off of his energy and flourishing under his efforts. Directly connected to the trees and plants within his grove, the energy and life force he gives so freely is returned tenfold until what he gains far exceeds what he's given and while he remains under the canopy of his grove he's one of the most powerful nature dragons in the Labyrinth. So in balance with his forest and the energies therein, Woodling was given a taste of the gods and created new life, a new being caught somewhere between plant and dragon. He pulled her from the roots of the Behemoth itself, gave her breath, gave her life just as he did his trees and ferns and just as the trees, she is his child, first and last. He would pass all that he had learned to her, she would be his crowning achievement, she would expand his work even as he remained rooted to his own grove. While he had grown a forest, she would grow a clan. He is a caretaker to the trees, remaining at the center of his grove, forever and unyielding, watching over it always. The air is clean, the soil is rich and not a bare spot can be found within his grounds. Strangely, no matter what disease or catastrophe may rip through the Viridian Labyrinth, all damage and sickness seems to stop just at the borders of Woodlings grove. |
