Personality
Luyten is obsessed with reading. If his head isn't in a book, or researching something of interest, then chances are he's daydreaming. Luyten in insatiably curious, and because of his obsession with his studies, he can seem quite standoffish to anyone who tries to get close to him. While he can often be quite judgmental of people who don't share the same academic views as him, Luyten tries not to be rude to anyone's face.

Interest
Luyten loves to scavenge old books from the ruins that his clan was build upon. From these books, he has obtained a wealth of previously lost knowledge of ancient cultures and beliefs. Luyten believes that the preservation and education of these ancient cultures is a necessity in building a brighter and more peaceful future. Luyten's studies do not lay solely in old texts however, and whenever a merchant happens to pass through the clan, or a wanderer seeks refuge with them, Luyten will be sure to purchase any books that he does not already have.

Relations
Luyten's mate, Chausiku is a good friend of his, but they are not particularly romantically involved. The two of them came to the clan together with Luyten's sister Misaki many years ago. Luyten is most closely attached to his sister Misaki over all others. The two of them inherited their love for reading and science from their parents, and while they will often spend weeks devoted to their studies, not talking to anyone, they will almost always have many findings to discuss together for hours on end when they meet up again.
