Biography

I am tireless pursuit across the grass, an awareness of danger between the trees. I am a sharp bite of pain around the throat, claws digging into the flank. I am Fang, and I hunt for the Grove.

I am Sight. I circle high above our Grove as both watcher for danger and ward against it; or else I conceal myself in the treetops for hours or days and watch for migratory patterns, new species, and population booms.

I'm always mindful of intruders, but that doesn't mean I'm willing to treat them fairly. Most intruders don't even know they are being watched by the fastest judge of life or destruction; I melt into the Viridian Labyrinth seamlessly.

Be careful of Kruger, he will listen to me and me alone. I took my training from Lathyrus very seriously, knowing that my role was one of the first lines of defense my old clan had against potential threats. Just because the clan I guard is different now, doesn't mean the same rules don't apply.

Kruger and I were found wandering the border of the Everbloom Gardens, alone and hungry. We were taken in, and at the time we were grateful, but when the usurper Forsaela seized the throne and uprooted the clan in favour of darker territories, we sought to remain in the Laberynth. These woods are our home.

We lucked upon the Grove after many days of wandering, and we are happy here. Mostly. We do somewhat miss our old family. Sometimes, a selfish decision must be made.

We hunt together, in the same patches of the Laberynth that we used to, and a few new ones. It is all the same to us. The forest talks, but a good hunter can only hear it by learning its language.

The same is true of Kruger. He may seem fierce, and difficult to understand, but that's only because you haven't learned his language. He can be so kind, if you just give him the chance. Let me tell you a few of my favourite things about him:

• You would never expect it, but Kruger has an incredible sweet tooth. I make sure he always has desserts and candies to look forward to after patrol.
• Kruger has a very sharp sense of smell, putting any tundra to shame.
• Kruger collects any bits of bone he finds on his patrols. He etches symbols into each one. Nobody is sure what any of the sigils mean, not even me, but I like to just look at them sometimes. Admire the craftsmanship.
• Kruger remembers each of his hatchlings, and loves to hear from them.
