Dragon Log

The second born "twin" hatchling of Duskcloud and Beeblebrox's first clutch, he appears to have inherited far more of his father's wackiness than his sister. One day--sometimes one hour--he will be happy, warm, and friendly. The next...a dark, brooding mood comes upon him that only his sister--and sometimes his mother--can penetrate. He isn't sure himself why it happens, but has learned to live with it, and adapt. After all, even when in the darkest mood, there is always reason to find happiness and light... and the Clan--and especially his sister--are adept at helping him to see that. A true dragon of "between times," and a true son of the unpredictable Beeblebrox and his loving mate.

1-7-14: He and his sister debated their names for a long time. Much closer than most nestmates, they wanted names that linked, yet reflected their own unique personalities. After a long, somewhat odd discussion with their mother (who told them to follow their heart in all things, including their names), and their father (who thought that the wackier the name, the better), they made their decision:

1-20-15: Solstice's mood took a turn for the better today, when his friend, the Greenroot Janustrap, Awakened! She seems happy too... though it's hard to tell with a plant, of course....

4-17-15: As they grow older, the siblings' differences are becoming a bit more apparent. Equinox is the gentle "twin," while Solstice is much more fierce... nowhere is this clearer than in the familiars they bond with. When the Greenroot Janustrap decided to root itself in an interesting looking hollow, Solstice found, and befriended, a strong, extremely temperamental Jadecarved Decoy. Meanwhile, Equinox found a much different companion.... Though they still bonded on the same day. Some things, it seems, will never change.

5-25-15: Equinox and Solstice journeyed together to the Greenskeeper Gathering.... and for the first time they truly encountered different experiences. It seems that the Labyrinth's magic had different plans for the "twins.". Now Equinox had some very... unusual.... markings on her scales and wings--indicative of the start of spring. Solstice is not entirely happy at the change....

7-16-15: The Jadecarved Decoy has Awakened! This is a good thing, since Solstice has begun to wonder about the outer areas of Arcane, and will need a fierce companion to journey with him. He has no intention of leaving the Clan, but he does wonder what else is out there to be seen. Equinox is amused by her brother's desires....

3-16-17: As time moves on, so too do the interests of various dragons. While out exploring, Solstice discovered an odd green insect, which reminded him somewhat of Summer. Curious, he tried to examine it closer, only to find that the Ruffle Glasswing was doing the exact same thing to him...

6-14-17: The Ruffle Glasswing has Awakened! Following in his sister's footsteps, Solstice has given his now fully mature companion a name. Summer seems far more appreciative of his name then the Pansy was of hers...

11-22-17: Out of nowhere, two of the Clan's "undecided" familiars have made up their minds...and once again, the choices between the twins appear to be a reflection on their personality. While Equinox has found a cheerful, contrary balloon to amuse herself, Solstice has attracted a much fiercer friend...

3-2-18: The Bearded Yeti has Awakened at last, on the last day of the Shadow Festival. Perhaps it wanted to join the party? Or perhaps it was simply ready to mature. Either way, Solstice is thrilled for his newest companion...

3-23-19: Changes in the Clan--and individual dragon's magic--continue to occur. Recently, Equinox and Solstice discovered that they are, in fact mages, with their magic bound to the seasons they have the most affinity to. It is not uncommon, now, to see one or the other of them--or both--surrounded by evidence of that affinity. Perhaps they should have a little chat with a certain two spirals...

8-27-19: Equinox and Solstice continue to grow in their magical ability, and as they do, their differences are becoming even more pronounced. Solstice is attracted to magical seasonal extremes, while Equinox is much more interested in the actual living aspects of seasonal magic. Nowhere was this more apparent than during the year’s Flameforger Festival, where the “twins” encountered an extremely odd Forge… ( ) Equinox is absolutely delighted with her new “Fire Seeds,” but Solstice is far more interested in the heat that caused them to light in the first place. Both, however, are a little unsure what to do with their new greaves ( ) and Solstice, for one, would dearly love to have a little chat with Anguis about the importance of looking where he is going… ( )
