The Southern Patrol deals with the one concrete advantage dragons have over beastclans: Magic. A permanent site in the well defended southern valley acts the base for dragons here do research and experiments on artifacts others find or acquire. The dubious results of their various experiments are so far used only to defend or improve dragonkind but differing perspectives have a way of changing things...

One of the top magicians in the clan, Bauxite is usually found in the valley south of the lair conducting experiments on artifacts. His time in the Starfall Isles granted him the ability to see magic Ley Lines and points. The white glossy scars however were the result of an experiment gone wrong, leaving him with shifting scars and tying his Guardian's existence, Hildr, to Ley Lines.

His guilt over the accident lead him follow the lines to Pyroclast Territory,where he is allowed to conduct experiments in relative isolation as long as he reports his findings to Meredith and offers his magic to defend and patrol the southern territory.
