HALEAKALA
Clan Matriarch & Fire Ambassador
Proud. Compassionate. Loyal.

This fiery beauty is a one of the members who have perhaps been here the longest, and as such she knows the ins and outs of the volcanic lair like she knows the back of her claws. Though she can possess one of the hottest tempers, Haleakala - Or Halea for short - possesses a blazing heart of incredible compassion and love for her Clanmates. It is why she has chosen to start a civil war within the Clan, she feels very strongly about the success and well-being of all her Clan-members, and is of the opinion that the current Clan Matriarch, Vulnera and her mate Bloodfall are not putting the Clan's best interests at heart.

She disagrees with the way they rule, and, though it probably would've been best to consult them over the matter, Halea is aware that the best way to get through to a ridgeback is with tooth and claw rather than logic and reason. Rather than persuade with words, Haleakala is gathering support from those who are old hats within the Clan and even a few newcomers, winning them over with her warm personality and impassioned words about the future of the Clan.

She dreams of a dragon paradise on earth, of lasting prosperity and a sense of camaraderie between the current and future members of the Clan. Though she is still quite young, she dreams big and she speaks her mind, unable to let the almost dispassionate, cold discipline of Vulnera's reign as Matriarch just go by unchallenged.

Haleakala is close to the other fiery-hued dragons in the Clan lair. She considers Inferno like something of a sister, and the two dragons can often be seen together playing in the magma or teaching important hunting skills to the next batch of hatchlings. Having been a mother (and formerly a snapper, surprise surprise!) herself on a few occasions, Haleakala has an immense soft spot for hatchlings, and though she tries not to get too caught up in caring for offspring that isn't even hers in the first place, she can often be found gifting and visiting the new parents, even if only to have a quick peek at the newest little bundles of energy and claws.

If there is one thing that gets on her nerves more than anything else, it's insults towards the Flamecaller - though this should get any self-respecting fire dragon angry, in her opinion! - she cannot tolerate any kind of snide remarks or untruths towards her mother deity. She's serious enough about it to start a fight, and she and Niteris, an imperious white-white-red gembonded skydancer from the Wasteland, still considers himself a follower of the Plaguebringer despite his welcoming into the Clan so many months ago.
They've gotten into plenty of arguments over this, though their issues with one another have been placed on the back burner now that the civil war has started.

Confident she can win though she lacks Vulnera & Bloodfall's battle experience and ability to strategize, Halea plans to come out victorious, even if she has to win on sheer passion and energy alone.
