Biography
Formerly of the Saurus Clan
Some dragons are shape-shifters.
The dragons of the Saurus clan know this, of course. After all, their own Clan Mother was once a fluffy tundra, shedding her fur to become a sleek Skydancer. She and others have developed new patterns on their scales as well. Even so, it is an unusual occurrence here. It makes some dragons uncomfortable to think about it, but at least the Clan Mother shows no signs of making any more changes. She claims she was always a skydancer underneath and is now content.
The same is not true for Cirran.
He arrived as a mere hatchling, fleeing a conflict in a nearby lair. His striking colors and patterned wings were striking, but otherwise the tiny Fae boy was unremarkable. That is, until one day he was suddenly a Spiral.
The other dragons were baffled, questioning the young dragon about the change. How did it happen? Was some kind of strange alchemy at work? Had he done it on purpose? Cirran only shrugged. He didn't know why this new form had come, but it suited him. It was fluid and graceful in a way his old body had not been. Fluidity suits Cirran. He undulates through life, meeting challenges and obstacles with grace and poise. Nothing seems to bother him or get him excited. When the stripes began to appear on his scales, he merely smiled and nodded at the inevitable interrogation. Once again, he had no explanation for the changes.
When the antlers grew in a few days ago, the other dragons did not bother to ask. Cirran ducks his head a little further to get through doorways, but otherwise has not remarked upon the change.
Due to his mysterious transformations and the serenity with which he accepts them, many of the dragons find Cirran unnerving. The one who seems least bothered by it all is Inara. Of course, Inara is seldom seen for long enough for anyone to notice if she is upset or in any way affected by anything, but she and Cirran seem to understand each other. Their hatchlings have all wandered off to other lairs or to the realms of the gods, probably because it never occurred to either of their parents to encourage them to stay.
When Cirran moved to his new home lair in the Shifting Expanse, his appearance changed yet again. But this time he seemed to lack an appearance all together. His antlers remained, as did his eyes, heavy from the draw of falling back to sleep like his original clan mates. He also attracted some strange, dancing flames known as the dangerous Will 'o the Ember. The dragons in Freshpeachez's lair were pretty difficult to scare though, and they accepted Cirran's odd look without comment.

The sleeping curse caught us unaware. Indeed, we knew nothing about it until over a year later, when some of the eldest dragons began to stir. Most of the clan still sleeps, waiting for a cure.
Those who woke had two choices: stay, attempt to wake the others, and protect the clan - or go, and seek out new lives. The world has gone on without us, and we know our clan will never be the same. All we can do now is pick up the pieces and attempt to forge something good from the ashes.
