Quis' Review:
Azurite is a GORGEOUS Fae. Look at those silks and that sparkling accent work with this triple basic's colors to make her just as pretty as any TG dragon.
"Did I ever tell you of the time..."

Streak's name: Shimmer
Azurite is the oldest dragon in Avis Calvariam, and some argue she's going senile. Anyone who sticks around long enough - and enough really isn’t long - will get an earful about her past mate, the caring albeit brutish Valdebar, all the children they raised together, all the grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, great-great-great-grandchildren, ever so many greats. She'll boast of her family to the point where the listener is left with a numb brain and glazed eyes, and then always end her stories with a rant of "that wicked pearlcatcher who took my Valdebar away from me." Despite having spent so much of her life in The Ashfall Waste, Azurite decided to return to her roots after separating from Valdebar. She encountered Avis Calvariam shortly after making it back to The Windswept Plateau, but back then they considered themselves more of a patchwork family than a clan, had no airship to speak of, and certainly didn’t have a name for themselves. She watched the clan grow and blossom like the proud old grandma she is, all the while knitting sweaters no one but Diaval and Mary have ever bothered to wear. She has a great affinity for silks and is constantly hinting to her friends that they should provide her with more of them. Often a clanmate will pick up one she dropped and "gift" it back to her. She is always delighted by the generosity and never seems to notice it was a scarf or sash or wing drape she already possessed.
Plague Days:
Azurite became very distraught when the clan's airship crossed over into the Wasteland. She was among those whose health everyone worried for the most, and with good cause. She hated the stench of the landscape and spent days on end locked deep inside the wrecked airship, refusing to come out into the daylight. The ancient Fae nearly wasted away in the confines of her quarters, and the days one of her clanmates had to bring insects to her were far too many.Had they stayed trapped there much longer, they may have lost her. But the clean air of The Cloudsong has truly been healing for the darling elder, and her "patchwork family" hope to have her around for a few more years.
The Cloudsong:
"Amma Rite," as Diaval and Mary - and, ever so gradually, the rest of the crew - have taken to calling her, seems to have caught a second wind, so to speak. Despite being told she was exempt from the new rule of defensive and curative know-how, Azurite did not shy away from testing her mettle against the other dragons. She surprised them all when she began whipping out ancient spells most of them had never even heard of and was able to share this once-dormant knowledge with the other spell-castors.The two young Skydancers who dote on her the most were, of course, the first to glean from her expertise. She's also teaching them how to knit. |
