Biography
Sanguine
Head of the clan's warriors, and a skilled blood hunter.
As Sanguine matured into a young warrior in the coliseum and learned water bending, he had the idea of using water in the body of their targets to bend them to their will and attack. The more he practiced with biofluids the more his pure water bending began to expand in scope until he eventually learned to bend blood. It wasn't long before he gained notoriety even outside the clan for his amazing abilities.
The Queen Vampire herself was intrigued when she heard of this and became enthralled with the idea of gaining a blood bender into her coven. She and her coven made their way to the blood hunter and she sent her underlings to capture him, with the plan of using vampiric mind influence on them, however, the hunter was too strong and drained the vampires of all fluid until they where nothing but dust, then turned his attention on the Queen and finished her off. After Sanguine's victory, he was given the rank of head of the warriors guild in the clan.
Once, one of his scouts named Centauri, who would be sent off to peer in on other clans and fractions to keep tabs on them, one day disappeared. Sanguine flew day and night to Centauri's last known coordinates and found him in another clan. He waited on edge wondering if Centauri was deep undercover but soon realized all was not as it seemed as they spotted Centauri gazing longingly at a maiden who was hanging up some of their apparel to dry outdoors. He managed to get Centari's attention, slightly nudging and tugging on his blood in his body towards his direction so he could glimpse him in the bushes. Centauri returned to him but let him know guiltily that he had chosen to move on and stop his life of constant traveling to settle down and maybe have a family with a girl he met missions ago and stayed in context with, but he had been too nervous to bring it up with the clan, afraid what they might say and think of him now for abandoning the clan that took him in and neglecting his duties to them and to Sanguine. He bowed his head and gave Centauri his blessing to be free and happy. He left him in his new home. Later on, Sanguine sent another scout to check on him and was devastated to learn he unfortunately shortly after their parting, left this world to that of the exalted realm.
Sanguine entered the Dragoneirre 2nd Flight Hunger Games and represented Water Flight. Sanguine was on the winning team. The next game's water representative was clan leader Lavandula's daughter Athena.
Sanguine and Athena got off to an awkward start at first, as the two had never truly met the other. Only passing glances and recognition during meetings between the specialist department heads of the clan with Lavandula. So when it came time for the Flight Hunger Games, Athena and Sanguine weren't certain if meeting the other and discussing the upcoming event was proper. Sanguine felt like it wasn't his place to act like he knew better or could give advice to the Chief's daughter, and Athena felt a mixture of shyness to approach Sanguine as well as pride and determination to do it herself without any help, even if the fear of failure paralyzed her. It was her mother, Lavandula, who suggested that the two converse during a meet, and with that outside request from their leader the two agreed to go along with it. It was because of this Sanguine and Athena got to know each other and become friends.
The two got closer as they kept meeting up and hanging out, the two were inseparable, always having fun, getting into midnight excursions of getting into mischief, conjuring golems & necromancy, and seances with the dead. And calm moments, gazing at the sky or eating desserts at Ginger's bakery. Eventually Sanguine purposed to Athena and she said yes. Her mother initiated their wedding under a full moon, and the two couldn't be happier.
Later on, Sanguine became a soldier during the Dominance Wars. He had the grueling process of training more warriors to fight and be sent to battle, knowing full well many would never return, if any, and Sanguine would be forced to live with that.
Later on, Sanguine was stricken with a vicious sickness. Sanguine survived but was forever changed. Originally of the water domain, Sanguine is now of the Plague with diseased blood at his disposal. He managed to cope with the change by accepting that this is just how it is now and no wishing or sadness can change it. He accepted a position as one of the joint representatives of Plague with PlagueKnight and Necromancer. Athena had a hard time accepting Sanguine's ability to just accept his condition and Sanguine couldn't understand why she couldn't accept the reality of the situation. The two became distant, something that had started back during the Dominance Wars as Sanguine had begun to pull away from everyone, and now, this situation had only continued to grow as Sanguine realized Athena couldn't accept him for who he had become. The two ended up divorcing.
Sanguine had a daughter, Leah. Despite no longer being tied to Lavendula and Valdez through his former marriage to Athena, he still respected them enough to ask if they wanted to be his child's godparents, which was accepted. Leah ended up following in his footsteps. When her whole squad was killed, she managed to survive due to her inherited blood bending.
Personality:
Pre-wars, Sanguine was a kind and helpful person, who was always ready to get to work. Sanguine also enjoyed the simple things in life, such as Ginger's freshly baked cookies.During the Dominance wars, Sanguine became completely reserved and quiet. Unable to open up, unwilling to get close to people, and finding getting to know recruits heartbreaking, knowing they'd all be lost to the exalted void soon.
