______Starlingprince is a loud, proud and stubborn skydancer. He was engaged in a rivalry for some time with Crowprince, both fighting for the affections of a shy, uninterested dragon named Raveness. Phthalo eventually broke up the rivalry before it could go too far, and decided Starlingprince would be Raveness's breeding partner. Starlingprince was ecstatic, and very excited to be the father of Raveness's dragonets, or dragonet, as they only had one egg. before it could hatch however, Raveness's growing frustrations with Starlingprince boiled over, and she told him she never loved him, and didn't want to be his mate anymore, much to Starlingprince's shock and anger. She begged the clan's leader Phthalo to assign her to someone else, while Starlingprince demanded they stay together. Phthalo ultimately agreed with Raveness, and at Forestfire's suggestion, he also banished Starlingprince, as he deemed him no longer useful.

______As Raveness had no interest in raising him, Starlingprince was also allowed to take his young dragonet with him when he left. With his young son barely old enough to fly, Starlingprince left Phthalo’s clan and headed south without any plan of where he was going. In his travels, he passed over the Emperor’s Wake, and afraid of his son being caught up in its growing destruction, he decided to leave the Sunbeam Ruins entirely, and go where he hoped the beast would never reach, the Southern Icefeild.

______As Starlingprince came to find himself a friendlier clan for him and his young son to settle, the stress of the whole situation finally caught up to him and, combined with the harsh weather of the glacier, he fell under a horrible sickness. Thankfully, a dragon who was out scouting had found the two and brought them to the warmth of the Snowstorm Haven. Diggory was nearly frozen solid and his father wasn't that much better off, but with the help of the villagers and a little bit of magic, the two were conscious again after a few hours. They were kept overnight in the Hollywell Clinic, Starlingprince to monitor his health and Diggory to make sure the cold didn't leave any long term effects on the hatchling. Within a handful of days, they were released and got themselves a place to live. Although the sickness left Starlingprince with a weakened immune system, his son, once grown, was able to go out and work odd jobs while his father stayed at home.
