 B O S M E R Seer, High Priest     Fragile | Spiritual | Quiet The Redwoods |
It had taken an hour or so but finally the small newborn spiral crawled from his shell, tumbling and wobbling as he did. Those present around the nest talked in hushed whispers, cooing and beaming at the new arrival, the last of his clutch to emerge. He was cleaned and cradled and rolled onto his back so his face could be seen and it was at that moment that a slit on his forehead opened to reveal what looked to be a third eye. Gasps rippled around the small crowd in the nursery and word was immediately sent to the clan leader. As the spirals mother studied this strange feature she came to realize that this 'eye' held no signs of life or movement, but it glowed softly and as the new mother stared at this strange, false eye, she could feel it stare back as though it were real and searching for something. Turbulent and unpredictable the false eyes' vision was unfocused, it saw everything, it saw nothing. Fragments of visions assaulted the young spiral all through his youth, strange worlds, impossible creatures, like vivid dreams that he could never understand and yet never forget. Only when he took his first flight did the eye focus, like a crack of lightning it pinpointed what it had been frantically looking for for so long as he rose above the jungle canopy for the first time in his life and then just like that the young spiral was plummeting back to the ground, head reeling and vision dark. His world had shifted entirely in a matter of seconds and one image remained etched into his mind thereafter, the ancient tree that sits in the middle of the Viridian Labyrinth, its roots deep, its limbs many. Voiceless it called to him, day and night. |

There was no rest, no hunger, no thirst until his destination had been reached, a journey controlled and influenced by some outside force. One touch to the rough bark of the ancient tree was all it took and then this false eye embedded into his forehead looked upon the world with a new clarity. Rather than fragmented images that ripped through him leaving chaos in their wake, he could now see all of time unfold and open out to him and yet it wasn't he who directed its gaze, rather some other force, something old, powerful, wise, and as it looked into his world, he looked into its'. Bosmer, knew very little of the world and yet this being who now commanded the sight of his third eye was instantly familiar to him, a presence he could now feel within himself as well as within the tree, always watching. The Gladekeeper. Like a looking glass into the world she created, his deity watches through his false eye, his Soulstone, one of many throughout Sornieth, vessels chosen by their deities to be bearers of the sight. Witnessing the same visions and knowledge that his deity retrieves through his stone, Bosmer holds many secrets yet shares few. Sometimes it is a curse, sometimes a blessing, but the knowledge itself is a power he guards well and discreetly. Connected to his deity always in a way few could know yet many yearn for has turned Bosmer into a loyal servant. To this day he sits beneath the Behemoth, coiled in quiet meditation, spreading her word and her way to all who will listen. With his unique insights he leads the way for others just as loyal, a gentle guide into her realm of life and growth. A silent watcher, a devoted priest, her chosen vessel. |
