Dragon Log

12-1-14: He wanted adventure, and a place with lots of his kind. This Clan seems to have both.... at least he has attracted an "adventurous" familiar: the Cockatrice, already Tolerant of the Clan, really seems to like him in particular....

2-15-15: Having joined the Coatl project on a whim, Citrine fully enjoyed himself courting several females, with no real expectation of actually winning. As the round drew to a close, however, he found himself attracted to one particular female Coatl...

2-19-15: Nothing ever stays the same.... but sometimes this is not a bad thing. Citrine's Cockatrice familiar doesn't think so, as he has decided to embark on his next phase of existence, and has Awakened! Citrine is rather hopeful that this means he will leave the hatchlings alone....

3-3-15: While Citrine and his first mate wait for their eggs to hatch, his Cockatrice has grown bored, and wandered away, and a very different friend has taken his place. The Shellion enjoys sitting and watching the nest.... and Citrine is not altogether unhappy at the change.... at least his new friend does not look like he's watching his future meal!

3-7-15: The eggs have finally hatched! But the 2 healthy hatchlings are restless, and probably won't stay long....

3-8-15: So it proved to be. The elder hatching, CItrine's daughter, decided to try her luck in Shadow Flight... and liked the area so much that she went to serve the Shadowbinder before she was even fully grown! Meanwhile, Citrine's son is enjoying his new home in Water Flight.... and has acquired a nice Shellion to keep him company! Like father, like son?

5-31-15: The Shellion has Awakened! Citrine is extremely happy for his friend--though a little distracted, as he is currently courting several young ladies at once....

6-18-15: This seems to be a season for fiery colors, as Citrine's current mate is continuing a trend begun with Amber.... at any rate, Citrine is thrilled with which dragon chose him for this round, and is proudly watching over his 4 eggs....

6-28-15: Despite the harried feelings of his mate, Citrine is still thrilled 5 days after his little ones' birth. He wishes very much that his youngest son had decided to stay a bit longer, but is enjoying his other three while he has them....

7-9-15: Sometime ago, Grielle, Citrine's second-born daughter out of his second clutch, wandered off to a Water Clan. Recently Citrine learned that she is doing quite well there....

7-14-15: Citrine's older son from his first mating with Ruby has decided to explore away from the Clan. On a journey to his mother's Birth Flight of Wind, the young male Coatl found a Clan he liked, and asked to stay. They accepted him quickly. Citrine is a bit disappointed he didn't get more time with his son, but he wishes QirElai well in his new home.....

7-22-15: Citrine is reeling in shock! While the other dragons were bickering over who would get first chance to bond with a Wetland Unicorn, the Unicorn in question simply walked over to the youngish dragon, and butted him in the side. Citrine had never expected to get a chance at such a pure being when his Birth Flight generally does not attract such creatures, and as a result had not even been participating in the argument. But apparently the Unicorn had other ideas. His head butts continued until the stunned father looked down at him, and locked eyes--and now they are inseparable! The rest of the Clan isn't sure what happened, but the Dwarf Unicorn, who was observing the whole thing, seems amused.....

8-9-10; Citrine's currently youngest daughter has finally decide where she wishes to go... and also what she wishes to look like. She journeyed to an Ice Clan, and promptly underwent a magical ritual that not only gave her the name Nerough, but also changed her Sunshine Tiger coat to a Sunshine Piebald one..... Citrine isn't sure what to make of this change, but at least his daughter hs happy--and she even has a mate!

9-2-15: Information sometimes travels fast--particularly during Festivals. A dragon on their way to the Fire territory made a slight detour to visit the Clan, and Citrine learned that his oldest son has now chosen his name.... and has plans to change his appearance as well!

9-9-15: In other news, Citrine is now grandfather...several times over! He is thrilled....

10-31-15: The Wetland Unicorn has Awakened! Citrine is still in shock over having been chosen by such a pure being as a companion, but he is certainly very happy for his friend....

11-20-16: Citrine lately learned some news about one of his hatchlings, and he is not sure how to take it. It seems that after mating with quite a few dragons and giving Citrine oodles of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Minka, once called Nerough, suffered some kind of accident and has reverted to her baby years--literally. She is now a permababy! Citrine is devoutly hopeful that this gets fixed soon.....

1-25-17: Citrine has entered the Sornieth Winter Games at the 2017 Crystalline Gala! Oh dear... ( )

2-1-17: Citrine is in shock! Despite his "rocky start," and being an underdog in the Event, in the words of the announcer, "he soon got the hang of the course and propelled himself to 3rd place." ( ) He honestly isn't sure if he is more stunned that he won a medal--or that he finished the course at all. He will definitely consider entering again next year! Why, this feels almost as good as when his Wetland Unicorn bonded with him….Hmmm.... speaking of that, that Unicorn really needs a name... perhaps Champion?

11-11-19: It has been quite some time since Citrine has bonded with a new familiar. Perhaps it is not surprising, then, that one of the older unbonded familiars, who suddenly decided that he was ready to bond, should choose Citrine as his dragon companion. Certainly no one can say that Citrine is rushing things, and the Cheerful Residue's yellow surface looks quite good curled up next to the Coatl's golden scales. Still, it is a bit surprising that a familiar thought to be more attracted to Alchemists should choose a dragon interested more in focus stones. Is Citrine considering a change in vocation? Or is he simply fascinated by the smiling face shining out of that lump of...something? Only time will tell...

2-22-20: Whatever the reason for the strange attraction between the alchemy "reject" and the golden Coatl, the bonding process has continued uninterrupted, and now the Cheerful Residue has Awakened! Perhaps, with the creature's newfound maturity will come some hint as to why it chose Citrine in the first place...

4-11-20: It seems that Citrine is extremely attractive to familiars at the moment. Today another one decided to say hello: The Contagion Gem Guardian, which has been ignoring all attempts from any Plague dragon in the Clan to catch its eye, abruptly appeared in front of the older Coatl and immediately initiated a bond. This time, at least, there is no question about compatibility. The creature has already moved its precious gems into Citrine’s own collection, and is clearly quite content to belong to a dragon who loves to use focus stones…

7-12-20: The Contagion Gem Guardian, now calling itself "Achoo," has Awakened! Citrine is very pleased for his friend--and even more pleased to see that, now that the Gem Guardian is strong enough to venture out further in his explorations, the nice pile of yellow gemstones that Achoo has been accumulating is growing even bigger...

11-26-20: The annual "Turkey Spell" has struck again! Citrine is not yet sure if his "new look" is a good thing or not...but at least it shouldn't last long--right?
