Biography
Mirk is one of the first members of the Clan, having been around since it’s founding. She’s one of the few Mages who tends to prefer using tooth and claw over magic, yet retains her title in the Mages’ Council for her wisdom, her loyalty to the Clan, and the strength of her magical power when she does use it. She’s physically strong as well, and can take more hits that any of the other Mages. As well as that coveted position, Mirk is also one of the Clan’s Coli Knights (tm), a group of three brave dragons who risk their lives in combat for fame and glory. She thinks quite highly of her fellow Knights, even if they can be knuckleheads sometimes. She’s only their elder by a few years, yet she treats the both of them like the children they are at heart (though they have matured a lot since they adopted their child, Ronove). They may be fools but they’re her fools and she loves them dearly. No being, dragon nor beast, should dare think of hurting them while she’s around. Especially not after the loss of her partner. She shouldn’t have let him go, she knows now. She’d warned him, she’d told him that it was too risky. But something had captured his attention, something they both knew he needed to find or die trying, even if he didn’t tell her what it was. Maybe he didn’t know. Maybe it was like a Guardian’s search for their charge, a vague yet intense feeling that insistently pulled and pulled until it found. Mirk wishes she knew what it was, what it felt like, what drove him to go. But now Penn is gone, and he didn’t leave any clues, or even a body, behind. Her children, too, were stuck by tragedy. All Mirk can do is hold her surviving daughter close, and vow that whatever lurks out there won’t be touching what remains of her family.

• one of three ‘Coliseum Knights’ • The Mom Friend • Loves raspberries & stormy days • Tends to treat her friends like children, sometimes needs a reminder that they can be just as capable as she • Her charge isn’t a physical object but rather the collection of dragons she considers to be her family • She would likely have succumbed to the despair of loosing her mate and most of her children were it not for Cynfaen & Pyramus (she makes it up to them by being their entire impulse control) • Most dragons in the clan wear no scars; with so many healers (magical or otherwise), even major wounds can be patched up with no problems as long as they’re tended to soon enough. Mirk’s scars weren’t acquired in the coliseum: they’re a memento of her childhood growing up in Plaguelands, where nobody else was going to take care of your wounds for you, and you were lucky if they even healed at all. She insists the ‘training’ made her strong enough to look after her family now.
