Erlingur

A haughty lord of the Nature flight, Erlingur left his home, abandoning his family name and forgetting even his parents as he searched for a place worthy of him. He was dubious about joining such a new clan, but he was impressed by Lucia's powerful magic and humbly sued for a position in her clan.

He now serves as Clan Warde's Nature representative, the flowers that spring up along his hide and in his wake proclaiming the power and magic of his flight and of his clan. Erlingur does not often speak to the rest of the clan, especially since the death of his first mate, Keasora, mother of his children. Instead, he holds himself aloof, refusing even to give names to his own hatchlings, who must instead receive names from the clan leader, who is always willing to spend time with the little ones.

Erlingur's days are not empty, however. If he spends them alone, he spends them in study not of books but of the natural world around him.

His experiments on the nature of flight-specific magics are what left him with flowers ever-blooming along his wings, tiny seeds falling from them in a patter like rain, their magic-infused centers bursting open in his wake, filling patches of dirt with tiny shoots.

Since the death of his first mate at the hands of the Shade, Erlingur has turned from esoteric experiments to more practical ones. Several new plants owe their name and their creation to him, including one plant - his pride and joy - that bears his wife's name and that gives dragons increased resistance to the Shade. With Lucia's blessings and her gift of Earth magic for strength and longevity to bolster Nature's wild growth he has sown the Keasora seed in wide arcs around the lair, planting rows along both inside and outside of the magical wards that gave the clan its name.

Although he would spend all his time at his researches if he could, Erlingur makes time to practice defense. Learning to fight prepares him, he claims, against the future. Moreover, the bruises and wounds that he receives even in the most careful training give him ample opportunity to test his newly-invented medicines against himself.

He is snappish at interruptions, carrying out his diplomatic duties with haughty perfection but no warmth. The allies that he makes are impressed by his bearing and his competence - but they go to his leader or to his fellow messengers for warmth.
