Lettie is fairly sure her home clan was disappointed with her choice of profession. She was a rare find - Nocturnes have the oddest child raising practices, leaving their eggs for others to find. Weren’t there birds who did that? Maybe since they were mimics it all worked out? Then again, a true Nocturne clan was a rare thing to find, let alone to successfully interact with, giving the mimicking. Regardless, Lettie's home clan lamented that the first thing Lettie ever heard was the howling blizzard outside - it ruined any chance of influence the clan members could have had on her. Ever since then, Lettie found herself absorbed by the rhythms of the wind and snowfall - she became fascinated with sound and music and could not be persuaded to pursue any other profession.

When Lettie listened to the roaring of the blizzard, she heard so much more. She heard the howling song of the winds and the rhythm of falling snow pounding on the ground. She heard the tempo of crunching footsteps and the cracking of ice like the final notes in a symphony. As she grew, she longed to explore the world to hear more of the sounds of Sorneith. Would she be drawn to the Shifting Expanse, where she could hear the crashing of thunder like drums? Or would she find herself in the Viridian Labyrinth, where she could hear the deep hum of the Earth and the chattering of the forest creatures? She eventually found herself in the Windswept Plateau with the Clan of Doors, where she was inspired by creative minds such as Apollo, a fellow musician, and Trovadora, the clan storyteller. She spent her days listening to the notes created by the wind whistling through the reeds, and she often experimented with different reed arrangements to create her own melodies. Now, she seeks to travel once again, desiring to learn about the music of the other regions of Sorneith.
