He has gold scales which are almost mirror-like and unusually thick, forming a continuous cover all over his body. They are not natural but rather the result of falling into his cauldron - he was brewing a mixture of amber and gold that could serve as a healing balm when Matron startled him. He managed to get out of the cauldron quickly, but not quick enough to avoid being entirely covered in the highly experimental substance. Luckily, there weren't many significant averse effects. Now his scales are incredibly tough and regenerate almost inmediately when broken. However, the thick and not very flexible substance also covers his wings and frills, making flying and communicating using his crest extremely difficult. He solved the flying problem with a rather impressive set of mechanical wings invented by him. The second problem has proven more difficult to solve, and he resorts to isolating himself rather than trying to learn what for him are impossibly difficult voice inflections.

Following the incident, he became very mistrustful, especially towards larger dragons (especially towards Matron). Getting him to talk to you is almost impossible, let alone getting any useful information from him. However, he is surprisingly helpful towards non-draconic races.

Ronsem is quite the intellectual, knowledgeable in a wide range of topics from alchemy to history. He has a deep and detailed knowledge of the subterranean world, and enjoys exploring caves on his own, even if he might find himself in danger sometimes. His skill at mechanical items is quite refined, being able to craft tiny and intricate contraptions that Sherezade usually sells for a nice profit. He isn't happy about Sherezade taking a rather big cut of the earnings, but he supposes it's inevitable, since his standoffish personality isn't conductive to business.

His hoard is small and consists almost entirely of rare and valuable spices.
His power to take on a human form has proven to be very useful.
He is lazy.
He is very aristocratic.
