Dragon Log
A very down-to-earth dragon, he was the third to hatch from the first clutch of three eggs found together. Practical, and loyal almost to a fault, he is nevertheless as fascinated in the Moon and stars as his "siblings"... and as "strange" as all Nocturnes. He prefers, however, to let the rest of the Clan do the reading and studying, while he applies what they have discovered in his experimentations. After all, this is an Arcane Clan, and he feels the same draw to magic--and mayhem--as his Clanmates....though in his case, it is more focused on how he can use the Moon's light and shadows to create illusions and mimicry. Once a Nocturne, always a Nocturne....
4-4-15: His forays into illusions and mirages will need to be postponed for a bit, as his Cursed Bat friend has finally Awakened—and so has the curse! The poor Bat has suddenly discovered he can’t fly at all, and his favorite meal now tastes like sand to him. It is the strangest Awakeneing of any familiar of the Clan, and the hardest—made even more so by the fact that the Nocturne seems to have been affected by the same curse…or perhaps he was always that bad a flyer?
6-2-15: After several moonturns trying to fix the problem, the two friends have hit on a solution--of sorts. The Nocturne went and coaxed a friendly Timber Tender back to his section of the caves.... and now the Cursed Bat can perch on his head! Whether or not the Nocturne will also be able to do so when the young Bear grows older--and bigger--remains to be seen, but in the meantime the poor bat has stopped crying, and the Nocturne now has a new friend to play with. The proud Nature Bear seems oddly affectionate towards both creatures, and does not appear to mind his new "hat" at all....
9-3-15: The Timber Tender has Awakened! And he is now big enough that the his Nocturne friend can perch on his back. The trio make an odd sight as they move around the caves, but they are quite happy with the arrangement, strange as it is.....
9-29-18: It has been a long time since this particular dragon bonded with a new companion. So long, in fact, that the Clan was beginning to think that he had decided not to try a new bond at all, and to simply be content with his Bat and Bear friends. It seems, however, that the Nocturne was, in fact, interested in bonding again. He just hadn't found the right animal to connect with. A recent foray into the back of the hoard led him to a sleeping stag, and now the Spirit of Nature and the Nocturne are happily enjoying themselves in what is, quite definitely, the beginnings of a familiar bond. Even better, the Bat is pleased to have a new place to perch from time to time, and the Bear seems to be happy as well....
1-9-19: Glenn, the Spirit of Nature Stag, has Awakened at last! His Nocturne friend is extremely relieved at this development, as he had begun to wonder if poor Glenn would ever grow up. For his part, the stag seems to be trying to make up for lost time, as he is prancing around the caves showing off his horns and trying to attract the attention of all the female creatures who might be in any way compatible with him. Fortunately, his antics are more amusing than anything else, and he has not actually cause any harm yet. Hopefully this remains true in the future...
