Dragon Log

Born in the last few hours of the Night of Nocturne, he was extremely relieved when his egg cracked open. Though he knew the egg would probably remain after the Night was over, there was still something very satisfying about being born at that time...and he encountered an even more satisfying experience upon emerging from his egg: As soon as she saw him, the Clan's Water Sprite let out an ecstatic squeal, and hugged the little hatchling's neck so tightly it was a wonder he could breathe... though the Sprite's ecstasy is, in fact, understandable. She has been waiting a long time for a Water Dragon to show up, after all. It is already clear that this will be a friendship for the books...

3-5-15: He took his name, as all his siblings, from the same list of "Seas" for the "Moon" that was stored at the lair. In his case, he went for a bit of a more of an interpretive bent, however.... His coloration and Element suggested water, and his hyperactivity suggest something not at all tranquil.... and so he chose to name himself after the "Foaming Sea." Despite the oddity of the name, it appears to suit him... and at least it is not as long as his brother Bolt's!

4-4-15: The Water Sprite has Awakened! Spumans is as ecstatic for his friend’s maturity as she was to meet him for the first time—though he has refrained from flinging himself upon her in his joy. Instead, he has gone out hunting, looking for the perfect meal to celebrate….Just what do Sprites eat, anyway?

4-24-16: The Water Sprite has decided to explore, and perhaps find another Water Dragon to bring back to the Clan. In the meantime, however, she has enticed a Seawater Savior to come and get to know Spumans better. The young Nocturne is not entirely upset at the exchange....

7-23-16: The Seawater Savior has Awakened! She is considering her name, but at the moment does not have that many ideas. Spumans is extremely entertained by his friend's antics, and looking forward to what she comes up with next....

4-22-18: Spumans has astonished the entire Clan by deciding to do something truly adventurous this Wavecrest Saturnalia: He is diving down into the Midnight Zone of the special tide pool! Hopefully he won't encounter anything too big to handle... ( )

4-26-18: Well, Spumans has finally returned, and what a story he has to tell, of rocky depths, odd stones, and strange, glowing eggs… ( )

The rest of the Clan is quite impressed, and some are taking bets on how long it will take him to go exploring again, now that he's been bitten by the bug. Others are just happy he came back safely, and with such interesting loot....

6-7-19: While Spumans has not, yet, ventured back out of the caves, he is definitely still indulging his adventurous bug, as he has been exercising his magic quite a bit lately, focusing on the more aggressive areas of his water heritage. And all this magical experimentation has had a now somewhat predictable result, as the tide of magical energy that recently swept through the Clan has gifted the newly enthused Water Mage with a Fathomsearch Halo! Spumans is thrilled that he has enough magic to cause his power to appear in the visible spectrum, and is extremely excited about what this might mean for adventures in the future...

4-27-20: Spumans has gone adventuring again! This time, he has gone on a quest to help try to discover what has happened to the Tidelord, or maybe to just find something exciting…. ( , , )

4-28-20: Well, this adventure has gotten off to an interesting start, as Spumans has already found some unusual items in a cavern ( ), and now he’s headed off to study some odd rocks in a strange lagoon… ( , )

…which has turned out to a very, very strange dragon sculpture! ( ) Spumans would have loved to examine that strange formation further, but the party as a whole has decided to move on….

4-29-20: And now the group is staring at a real altar, with a riddle, or perhaps a challenge, inscribed on its surface. ( ) Spumans is fascinated by the implications of one Chosen--although he isn’t really interested in staying somewhere permanently—and has moved closer to the altar, to see if that odd depression at its bottom is hiding any more clues… ( )

….The depression turned out to be somewhat disappointing, hiding nothing but some tools and old potion bottles. ( ) Still, there might be something of interest in those potions, so Spumans has pocketed one to examine later. In the meantime, though, another dragon found a much more interesting clue hidden by the altar itself, and now the group is trekking down the revealed path…

4-30-20: Well! It appears that the Quest may have gotten somewhere at last! The group is now at a beautiful lake, complete with a Waterfall, and it looks like the Temple they are apparently looking for is at the bottom ( ). Now, all they have to do is get it to the surface, and as this is a Water Temple, Spumans is heading into the water for his answers. ( ) Hopefully he’ll find something good…

…And find something he did! To be specific, he found the Maren tribe whose job it apparently is to guard the Temple--and know how to raise it to the surface when needed. ( ) Now all he has to do is hope that the leaders of the expedition can convince them to help…

5-1-20: It seems that the Maren were more than willing to be helpful, when asked politely. They didn’t just explain how to raise the Temple, they did it themselves! Spumans is quite impressed by the resultant building, and even more so by the Banescale they found inside. ( ) . Though in her case, his interest stems more from the chance to have his questions answered than anything else. ( ) Perhaps she will be able to tell him what this temple is for, and what kind of magic it holds…

…What the temple is for, apparently, is to aid the Tidelord when he is tired, and wants to rest away from his duties. ( ) This was definitely not what Spumans was expecting, but he is impressed all the same. What history there could be here! Perhaps he should do some exploring…

5-2-20: Much to Spumans’ chagrin, most the party who accompanied him was not interested in exploring, or asking more questions. Instead, they were hungry, of all things! Now he is stuck as part of a lavish celebration, while there are tons of tempting things to look at all around him, just begging to be discovered. ( ) True, the food is excellent, and the company isn’t bad, either. But there could be so much here to find! Surely no one will mind if he takes a closer look at the murals on the walls, will they? ( ) It’s not like he’s going to damage anything…

…The walls are even more fascinating than Spumans thought, and he has almost run out of parchment taking copious notes on everything he sees. ( ) Fortunately, he has that nifty illusion spell of his to reproduce an image at a later time…

5-3-20: Spumans has returned home from his adventure, after bidding his fellow questors farewell. ( , ). The rest of the Clan isn’t sure what to think of his tales of a hidden temple filled with historically significant murals and artefacts, but they can’t deny that the information he has brought back is intriguing. Perhaps if they study it in more detail they may learn some new things about Water Magic, and the history of Sornieth--or maybe even find a clue as to where the Tidelord has gone…

5-7-20: It seems that this year’s Wavecrest Saturnalia has been especially lucky for Spumans. Not only did he have a wonderful adventure, and find tons of things for the Clan to discuss, but now he has a new friend as well! He had barely been home a few days when one of the Clan’s more reclusive--and extremely rare--familiars sidled up to him and initiated a bond. So now the Crystalhide Jester has joined his little “family.” Perhaps “Rogue” the Coli Boss will have some ideas about new adventures Spumans can go on…

8-5-20: Rogue has Awakened! Spumans is thrilled to see his friend filled with so much energy, and even happier to meet the new "friend" that Rogue found today in a local river. It seems that the Bladebone Goliath will be joining the Clan's collection of unbonded familiars. It should be interesting to see who the odd green turtle finally decides to bond with…
