You Are A Memory

Pockets of swampy grounds dot the Viridian Labyrinth, small, isolated worlds of dense vegetation teeming with life both within the murky waters and without. Hanging low in the air is a thick, oppressive fog that is said to steal the souls of those who find themselves lost within. Tales and grim stories surround these quiet, eerie swamps and there are few who bother with the overgrown, marshy places, instead preferring to skirt around them at all cost. Yet there is one who haunts their banks and wades through their waters, unafraid and unharmed.

Nyss has remained a constant presence within the quiet swamp, she has watched the story of dragonkind unfold from her detached world on it's banks, separate and impartial. Like a ghost or specter, she has been a quiet observer who would surface but never once leave the muddy waters, yet somehow there have been sightings of her within the many other swamps and bogs scattered throughout the Labyrinth, though how is another mystery yet to be uncovered. Some say she created the swamps, others say the swamps created her, but the truth remains veiled in secrecy. It is believed that these swamps and marshes are rich with resources, but Nyss remains a guardian keeping at bay any bold enough to breach the fog and attempt to reap whatever lies within the untamed and untouched swamps. No matter which swamp, bog or marsh is trespassed upon Nyss will be the first to greet any intruders and if they manage to find their way back to wherever they originate from they are forever changed, all memories lost and forgotten. Though there are a select few allowed onto her marshlands, still her secrets are kept and little is truly known about the Swamp Keeper and that which she resides in.
