Kisankai is a favorite in the Clan of Singing Blood, as long as she remains well away from her fans. Kisankai is an unrepentant cannibal. She serves as a bounty hunter for the clan, which seems foolish if those bounties are wanted alive, but she has yet to make any mistakes in that regard. They might not be whole when she delivers them, but they are alive.

The fear of having her on one's trail is enough warning to keep most things from getting a bounty on their head in the first place.

She enjoys the hunt. The tracking. The seeking. The Search. It fills the void in her soul that was left in the wake of an all-devouring beast a long time ago. She can no longer protect anything. She has nothing to Search for. So instead, she Searches out bounties and delivers on that.

Disgraced Guardian
The details of her failure are known only to herself. Still, most other guardian dragons know a failure when they see one. For this reason, she prefers the company of other dragons than guardians. Grabal is the only exception, as he was not born a guardian. His presence lacks the sting that others bring.

No one knows who or what her Charge was, only that she failed to keep it safe. Some rumors suggest it was another dragon and it was she who killed it. The particularly grim also like to add that 'if it were a dragon, she probably ate it too.'

Of course, no fool makes any kind of musing or suggestion in a place where Kisankai might hear it.

Fallen
Kisankai was injured in battle. One of her targets, a fae known as 'Snatcher', had acquired the help of two Imperials, who had laid a trap for her. How he convinced them to help isn't clear, as Snatcher has never been known for being a skilled negotiator. Rumors, as ever falling from wild and imaginative tounges, have given life to a story that they knew her and knew her charge and wanted revenge for her failure.

Kisankai managed to kill one of her attackers, of that she is certain. She doesn't know if the 2nd one died or not. Snatcher got away though.

She dragged herself back to friendly territory and was taken in when she reached an outpost in the boneyard. Word was sent back to her clan of her injuries. Which may yet still have proven fatal. They were at the very least, ruinous to her occupation.

When she was returned to the clan, however, she found herself in a chamber she had never been in before. Qurulan's workroom. She was restored by the Machine Faction, to a proper fighting condition.
