Quirky | Endearing | Misinterpretted
Maryland can write in the Draconic language much better than he can speak it. Although he can understand it when spoken and even write in the traditional Draconic with a perfect grasp of the language, he is only fluent in the native Coatl tongue, so without Chessie around to interpret his humming, the communication with his clanmates is often stunted. This is one of many reasons that Maryland has picked up the pen and parchment, as it is his key to communication with the other species. Nowadays, he loves to write more than anything.
Maryland is an artist at heart and loves to write poems and other short stories. It isn't much to make a living by, but it keeps him sane and many of the other denizens enjoy such arts. He is always sending small love letters and poems as gifts to his clanmates, much to their delight- or dismay!
