Feyrian scouts the borderlands for injured beasts to nurse back to health, or, should they have gone too far, a painless and dignified end. His menagerie is always changing--new beasts are brought in, healed ones are released back into the wild. He is careful not to make them used to him; being used to the presence of dragons--or worse, being dependent on it--would mean the end for many of them, either because they would be danger or dinner. When it's time for their release, he'll chase them off, roaring and snapping after them, to make sure they won't return to him. It is a bitter end after having worked with them for so long, but it's for their own good.

He keeps them in the outskirts of the lair, as far from the other dragons as he can get without being outside the borders. He swears it's for their health only, but it's just as much for his own desire to avoid the others. Truth to be told, he would be perfectly content without a clan, running wild with a herd of qiriqs or soaring just above the sea with a flock of zalis. Beasts are easy. Beasts are straightforward. Beasts don't care for intrigue, for twisting words, for how much one client pays them to steal that artefact and how much they're willing to backstab said client for. But leaving would mean lacking the resources to help more beasts, so he stays, turning a blind eye to dragonkind's shadier activities.
