Clan Leader
"The Vindictive Spirit"
Mate of Tularemia

Pneumonic holds a special place in my lair for multiple reasons and I'm very proud of owning her. Not only is she my progenitor, she is also a 5-digit dragon which makes her special to me because it reminds me of how far I have come since then. She is like a piece of history that has lasted to the present. It is nice to see all the hard work put into an old dragon such as her has come to mean something, especially when it took around a year and a half to fully gene her as I'd wanted. Even now with new genes I am not feeling rushed to change her genes should something look better because, already, she gets compliments for my use of genes and apparel to make her what she is.

It is truly pleasing to see how far both I and Pneumonic have come.

As far as Pneumonic's lore, you will have to check below for full detail; however, I will give you a rundown of the lore here.

Pneumonic was born into a clan where she was meant to be an offering of peace to another clan. Instead, she ended up the exact opposite of what was expected and seen as a bad omen. It turned out such was right to some degree and she ran away before she shared the fate of her original clan. Later in life she found a young abandoned Imperial who she ended up losing to an emperor. The hatchling somehow returned later as a biologist that worked on gene and disease manipulation. Pneumonic ended up being his prime experiment, which went wrong, and she later got her revenge while also being turned out of her mind in the process.

Breeding Pair

General Information:
As Pneumonic is a first generation (progen) dragon along with her mate, all offspring will be pure second generations. In terms of genes, they will differ somewhat but are rather 50:50 in most cases. The range itself is mostly tight; the primaries and teriaries consist mostly of greyscale colours with some purples tied into the tertiaries. Secondaries include a very tight range of only reds.

Breeding Card:
This pair has no breeding card at this time.

Clan Views

"You need a little bit of insanity to do great things."

It feels impossible one can be so feared yet so beloved, so insane yet so reasonable, and so loving yet so vicious. Still, such is the case for the leader of Clan Black Blood. She is such a strange creature at best and, at worst, that is a story for another time. Of course you do get the bad with the good; however, in the case of Pneumonic, there are two extremes at play that somehow work in a beautiful yet terrifying way.
In the eyes of Pneumonic's clan mates, she is first and foremost the savior. When she appeared to claim the lives of Alpaon and his family many believed she would bring much chaos to the clan of which had suffered so much under his reign. Instead, much to the amazement of them all, Pneumonic brought the clan into a whole new era. She rid the clan of any problematic hostile clans and Beastclans, something that Alpaon himself could not manage. Those remaining either fled the Fallen Suns territory or chose to ally themselves with the new leader for fear that her lack of right mind might prove all too true. Pneumonic and her clan eventually became known as "Black Bloods", which was later embraced by the clan and became a name to be proud of.
Second, Pneumonic is a brutal and vicious leader that will stop at nothing to protect her clan. In old wars against other clans and Beastclans she had proved her own loyalty to her clan several times over. Still, Pneumonic ended up being betrayed by members that were still fully loyal to Alpaon. Pneumonic never blamed them for their loyalty, but that was no excuse to be accepted for their betrayal. When these traitors threatened the clan, Pneumonic exiled those that chose to go peacefully and personally dealt with those who hadn't had the right of mind to take their chance to leave. She was not afraid to turn on traitors no matter where they stood among her ranks.
Due to such, the Black Bloods do fear for Pneumonic. Her mind has proven unstable on multiple occasions to the point of lashing out at random creatures. She never lashes out at her own clan but this does not ebb the worry and fear instilled within her clan. Still, they fear that one day her mind will turn completely to that of the vicious and heartless creature she was in stories of her journey to the clan - the same creature she seems to become, still, at night when there are too few to control her.
Siding her brutality, viciousness, and unpredictability, there are occasions where she proves to be incredibly unsettling to the clan. At night, when she isn't out hunting for lone dragons to feed upon - though never her own clan - she sits outside of her den humming an unknown tune. Should one decide to get close enough, they might attract her attention. Should this happen, Pneumonic will turn her head to face the dragon that approaches her, still humming, but it isn't just this that is unsettling. It is the cold, dead stare she gives. It appears she is looking at you but at second glance it is like she, rather, sees through you. This isn't the only unsettling action Pneumonic has done but it surely means not many less than a Commander rank will approach her at night for fear she might lash out.
There are a number of reasons as to why the clan sees Pneumonic the way they do. The only one that does not fear Pneumonic in the least is her mate Tularemia, though many have their own opinions as to why such is the case. All in all Pneumonic does seem to mean well but the clan still believes it is only a matter of time before she finally snaps on not just a random unlucky creature, but the clan itself.

Dark Days (Childhood)

"Forget what hurt you in the past, but never let go of what it has taught you."

A single egg hatched one fateful day. Others had not made it, as the weather was harsh and unforgiving to those with no shelter. It was a day that was supposed to change everything. An entire clan would be merged to another and the leaders would share rule over the land they had fought to gain control over for so long. A brightly coloured hatchling was to grace their presence that day. A new hope filled all as they gathered to watch the hatchling emerge from it's egg.
That hope quickly diminished, however, when a dark hatchling of black and red emerged from the broken eggshell. Even her red plagued eyes were darker than any they had ever seen before even though they were clearly in Lightweaver's domain. No, this couldn't be. How was this possible? The parents were brightly coloured dragons loyal only to the Lightweaver. How could it be that they had given birth to a Plagueborn? There had to be an error, or was it a bad omen? Was war truly their only escape? What would Ashada think?
The opposing clan's leader, Ashada, walked calmly and carefully through a group of dragons surrounding the hatchling. When she got to the middle, her expression remained the same. Any emotions she was feeling at that moment were unseen as she gently picked up the hatchling from the center of the group and walked out as if nothing had been wrong. However, the clan soon found out that Ashada was not pleased with the hatchling they had offered and had ordered her army of dragons to kill off the rest of the clan. The only survivor sat upon Ashada's long Imperial back as they left, an onslaught of dragons completely ignored behind them.
When they returned to the main territory of Ashada's clan, Ashada set the hatchling upon a large stone pedestal-like structure. She watched as the hatchling stood strong and tall almost as if it were ready to be sent into battle should Ashada have ordered it be so. She gave the hatchling a small smile as if she found the action cute or amusing. Still, she turned from the hatchling and looked at a nearby guard. While the hatchling could not make out much, she did make out the words, "Kill it."
When Ashada left, the hatchling bolted off of the rock and toward the nearest deity border. The guard scrambled after her, though he was much slower. She quickly outran the guard and didn't stop until she reached the border between Lightweaver's domain and Shadowbinder's. It was here that she rested, very aware of her surroundings. The place was strange to her after being in the Sunbeam Ruins but that wasn't safe anymore. She had to find a safer place.
In the days that she trekked across the Tangled Wood, she had nearly starved countless times. As a hatchling, she was unsure what would be wise to hunt and what would not. However, she did meet a hatchling a few days older than her that taught her a few hunting techniques that saved her from starvation. He also had helped her realize that her eyes, unlike those of her clan, were red rather than yellow. Not only that, but they were a darker shade of red than even those loyal to the Plaguebringer. Still, he recommended she start a life there since it might mean that she would find more clans willing to accept a lost and hungry Plagueborn.
The young hatchling continued her journey, eventually ending up in The Scarred Wasteland as a fully grown dragon. While it was drastically different in comparison to where she had been born, she already felt that this was the place she would call her true home. Even though she never did find a clan willing to accept her, she made a good life as a rogue. Few bothered her and, when they did, they were mostly friendly dragons looking for a way back to their home. Some were even dragons traveling and looking for clans outside of their homelands.
Such was the life of the hatchling, who eventually called herself "Abyss" until the day she came across a lone, abandoned hatchling much like her younger self.

2vmt00y.png

Alpaon's Emperor (The Adopted Child)

While taking a drink from a lake on neutral grounds lacking a clan to drive her out, Abyss found a newborn hatchling that had been abandoned by its clan as an egg. He was large even for an Imperial - much more for a hatchling - but Abyss had managed to take care of him and his equally large appetite after deciding to take him in as her own.
Abyss never had any hatchlings before, so the entire situation was completely foreign to her. Regardless, she managed to care for the large hatchling as she traveled the Scarred Wasteland in search for a clan or, even, a group to join in travel. Despite her enjoyment of her mostly solitary life, she yearned for companionship of any kind. The Imperial hatchling had certainly taken care of this feeling of loneliness for the time being, however.
Over time, Abyss had come to love the hatchling, who she eventually named Alpaon, as if he were her own. He brought her happiness that she had been unsure she could even feel after all she had endured with her life thus far. For this reason, she had made a promise that she would protect Alpaon at all costs. In addition, Abyss strongly believed that no hatchling should have to grow up in solitude or lack any kind of parent: related by blood or not. She almost never let Alpaon wander out of her sight and treated him as a precious gem.
Then, one day, Alpaon had wandered away while Abyss was asleep. She woke to find him missing, which sent her into an instant panic. Abyss searched frantically to no avail for the longest time. Too stubborn to give in, she almost searched herself to exhaustion. It was only when she heard a faint bloodcurdling scream that she had found her beloved hatchling.
Abyss took off as fast as she could manage in her exhausted state across the Scarred Wasteland. The area she ran through was thick with the dead trees that littered the lands and, a couple times, she had stumbled over roots or far too low branches. Still, she managed to get back to speed enough to burst from the thick dead wood and run toward the screaming and crying ahead that she knew was Alpaon. As long as she could hear him, she knew she had time.
These thoughts - and Abyss herself - came to a grinding halt when she found where Alpaon was, however. She stared in cold fear as she stared at the dragon ahead of her. It appeared normal at first, though massive, until a second head moved from behind the Imperial's initial head. Then another from behind that, and another peeked around the rest. All eyes were on Abyss as she stared on in horror, Alpaon being held in the Emperor's massive mouth.
Abyss had not been prepared for such a situation. In fact, she had been thoroughly confident that Emperors were stories to get hatchlings to bed at night. Now that one was standing ahead of her and staring straight at her, she couldn't will herself to move despite every part of her screaming to run in and save Alpaon. Alpaon himself was crying out for Abyss, but this turned to screaming as the Emperor turned and calmly walked off into the Scarred Wasteland.
It took all too long for Abyss to recover from the revelation that an Emperor existed, and in the Scarred Wasteland of all places. Her home. By the time she had collected herself and began running after the Emperor, it and Alpaon's cries had vanished. Abyss ran herself to exhaustion that day, and she never did recover from the loss. She never stopped blaming herself for what had happened that fateful day, and it would haunt her even after she took hold of a clan later on.

Alpaon's Scroll on Subject 99823

Subject 99823 Experimental Notes
Test Run 76
Adult Mirror: Healthy

Subject has responded violently to initial testing, attacking both myself and a colleague after serum V1 injection. Seven hours of waiting has proved to get no response other than a slight change in behavioural traits after the initial attack (there were several more after, though these were escape attempts rather than responses to the serum). Subject 99823 is much more skittish after injection.

Subject 99823 Experimental Notes
Test Run 77
Adult Mirror: Healthy

We have decided to continue testing and have given her another injection for another serum: the WCB2 (our second attempt at the serum). Rather than waiting several hours for a response to the serum, we found that it was almost immediate. We had little time to leave the room to observe before the subject began writhing around and snarling like an animal. She has been doing this for several hours now. It has been so long I've lost track. Her energy seems endless. Fascinating.

Test Run 78
Adult Mirror: Dead

After a second injection of WCB2, it saddens me to say that Subject 99823 did not survive. We found no pulse this morning after getting no response from calling to her. Something about the second injection appears to cause death to the test subjects. Perhaps we must wait longer for it to take effect. We shall test this theory on Subject 19683705 with serum CLB1. Hopefully we will receive better and more effective results.

Subject 99823 Experimental Notes
Test Run 79
Adult Mirror (?): Alive

It appears that as we were disinfecting Subject 99823's test room two days after death, she burst to life and attacked our doors outside like a deranged animal. We captured her and brought her back in. Since we brought her back, she seems to be changing physically. Into what we are unsure since this is not the kind of change we were expecting to find. Regardless, we will continue experimentation to find out what is causing such a reaction.

Subject 99823 Experimental Notes
Test Run 80
Adult Unknown: Alive

The subject's body has formed itself into a completely new breed altogether. The bone structure has molded itself into a new form, the wings are completely changed from their previous form, and the subject has grown feathers and a single, much larger curved claw on each foot. She no longer possesses a second set of eyes.

Aside from physical appearance, the subject has taken on a much more violent nature. She is stronger and has escaped our bonds three times now. The third time in which she killed one of my colleagues after feigning being completely secured. She certainly hasn't lost intelligence, but she has gotten a taste for dragon. Subject 99823 terrifies me by the day...

Subject 99823 Experimental Notes
Test Run 84
Adult Unknown: Alive

After more attempts to secure the subject, we have managed to keep her down. It took chains rather than leather straps but we managed. She's a tough dragon.

Other than that, we have skipped logging for three other tests to record them at once due to rapid changes. After injecting the subject with three additional serums, she seems to have developed unusual markings and an additional colour has appeared across her body and wings. Her skin is turning an odd grey-purple as if decaying in some areas, almost as if she is dead but walking.

We have managed to get a heartbeat on her so we know this is not the case but perhaps Abyss really is dying... Time will tell.

Subject 99823 Experimental Notes
Journal
Adult Unknown: Escaped

Abyss has escaped, killing off the majority of my colleagues. Those that survived have escaped with me to return to the Clan of Fallen Suns. At this point, my only hope is that Abyss will fall ill to the serums and be rid from this place. At the very least I pray she wanders away from my home and never returns.

As long as she stays away, she is no longer my problem.

The tears I weep in silence as I mourn my Heralds dead.
