History:
Mitri started life as one of the not-uncommon orphaned dragons on Sornieth. In the difficult and sparse lands of the Shifting Expanse, food was hard to come by and there were plenty of predators that would make a meal out of a tiny Fae dragon if not for both Mitri's natural adeptness at magic as a Fae and his genius as a Lightning Flight dragon. Mitri was resourceful and creative, fashioning all kinds of devices and weapons to fend off predators and capture insects for a good meal. Mitri survived and grew up as a clever spark.

As a clanless dragon who survived to adulthood on his own, Mitri set out about starting his own clan. It was a difficult undertaking, as he had to make a lair big enough for dragons not his size. He found a nice cliffside in the Highland Scrub and used his breed's instinctual amber-making abilities to create scaffolding, upon which he mounted devices to dig out a cave. At the same time, he undertook a project to try and create a homemade lightning collector like the spires of the Lightning Farms, to power the digging device.

Both were almost total failures for such a small dragon.

Mitri might have nearly given up, if not for a wonderful stroke of luck. A lone Guardian dragon who had also grown up in the Shifting Expanse came across the beleaguered Mitri, trying to make a home big enough for other dragons. She had been on her Search, and decided her Search had come to an end. With Pelageya's help, the lightning collector and digging machine were reconstructed bigger and stronger, and a cave fit for a Guardian was carved out. Mitri had fallen head-over-tail for this amazingly strong and quite intelligent female, adoring her strength and the fact she could engage him on his level. He and Pelageya 'broke in' their new home on the first night, taking each other as mates for life. The size difference made things difficult, but sparks are nothing if not clever and inventive. This gave rise to their two Fae children, Arashi and Ehrde. So began the Mechavolt Clan.

Some time after the Mechavolt Clan's establishment, Mitri got into a small 'war' of sorts with some dragons of Nature Flight, the Bramblewood Grove clan. This war mostly consisted of the Bramblewoods dropping crates of beasties and flowers on the Mechavolt's lair, and Mitri and his clan scrambled to clean up the messes.

Today:
Mitri is a magically strong and mentally colossal dragon in his prime. His intelligence and genius are the basis for most mechanical projects the Mechavolt Clan undertakes, and he directs the clan's projects with all the enthusiasm of the Stormcatcher himself with his 'employees'. Mitri frequently defends the lair and goes on expeditions with Pelageya and Anaisa, and has gotten quite battle-hardened himself on top of his mechanically-inclined mind. Mitri hopes that his Mechavolts can contribute great things to the prosperity of Lightning Flight.

Recently, Mitri and Pelageya undertook a new magical engineering project, greater in aspiration than any before. With the two clan Founders working together, and with the assistance of all the other dragons of other Elements in Mitri's Clan, they created a great Lightning infusion machine with components of other elements. Mitri and Pelageya stepped into the machine together. It became surrounded with a halo of Lightning energy as it was turned on. When Mitri and Pelageya stepped out, their bodies had changed--now, not only did they have mystical designs in their hides that enhances channeling magic into machinery, their bodies are now composed of a living metal substance that has further enhanced their magical engineering capabilities.

In celebration of the success, Mitri and Pelageya laid their second clutch of eggs, but the new children have desires to see the wider world...

Familiar:
Once, while out looking for insects to eat, Mitri stumbled across a great hydra scorpion. Mitri prepared for a fighting retreat, as he was not strong enough at the time to challenge such a powerful beast, but the hydra scorpion seemed as cautious of the electrified Mitri as Mitri was of the many-stinger scorpion. Mitri decided to give some of the insects he had caught to the hydra scorpion, who ate them all up and followed Mitri back to the Mechavolt lair. The relationship was very tense at first, with Mitri and the hydra scorpion remaining fearful and cautious of each other, but after so much time the hydra scorpion, named Omnisting, has become a loyal, inseparable companion to Mitri. Mitri loves the hydra scorpion for its articulated form, and uses the giant insect as inspiration for many machines.
