Biography
| WINTER | [♫] Lost Boy
{ Ice Mage | He/Him | Gay } Upon their arrival in the mountains, Banrai and Dreamweaver stumbled across a single dying egg. Though neither of them had ever raised a child, they carried it into the small hut they had built, and warmed it by the fire—and as the first tiny cracks appeared across its warped, violet surface, silently agreed that they would care for the infant within as their own. Thus it could be said that the hatchling, named Winter for the pale color of his scales, was the first resident of what would one day become Feldspar’s sprawling territories. He has witnessed more of its rapid development than any of his clanmates, being present when Bellerophon arrived from the north, and when the capital’s early buildings were erected, scattered among pine forests and highland mists. In many ways, they have grown together, and he is all the more faithful to his parents as such. Even so, the enigma of his birth hung over him like a foul odor, and so he often sought the answers Banrai and Dreamweaver could not give him from his Tangled Wood kin. Nocturne eggs were frequently lost in the Ruins due to its close proximity to their ancestral nesting grounds; any one of them could have been his progenitor, and they would have been none the wiser. “But don’t be so glum,” they told him, “your parents surely loved you! You were just misplaced in the shuffle!” It was a dissatisfactory end to Winter’s long search, but he at last decided that it was, indeed, the end. He cast his birth parents from his heart, and turned instead to his studies. Nowadays, Winter spends the majority of his time with Juneau, a master of the ice element and the clan’s Southern Icefield Representative. There are few in the territories that Winter respects more than his mentor, and it is this bond that has allowed him to so swiftly improve his craft. Juneau believes that one day, Winter will surpass him, if only he can rein in his dreadful temper. Time not spent with Juneau is spent instead with his siblings. He is closest to Silas and Samuel, who he feels a personal responsibility for, but loves all of his siblings as if they were his own blood. Though he and Phantasos are fond of getting into petty spats, particularly over which of them the twins love more, there is an unshakable connection between the lot of them, and Winter is grateful even for their moments of childishness. code by Diamondbacked |
