Biography

| DREAMWEAVER | [♫] Dreamscape Wanderer
{ Clan Founder, Dreamwalker | They/Them | Male-Attracted }

Dreamweaver's past is shrouded in mystery. They keep it to themselves, wishing not to burden others with their baggage—or to inadvertently reveal their weaknesses to unfriendly ears. For all intents and purposes, their life began when they met Banrai, and they will never give any other answer when pressed for information.

So their people speculate. Some believe that Dreamweaver was once hunted, for they are Other, not of dragon blood, and would fetch a high price on any market. Some surmise that they served royalty as a ward against bad dreams, to keep noblemen snug in their beds when the burden of ruling grew too great. Some suspect that they were a terrible calamity, a black-hearted being of incomprehensible power, who knew neither kindness nor mercy.

Whatever they may have been, now they are Dreamweaver. Calamity, Demigod, Other; these titles mean nothing to them. Guardian of their subjects, mate to their husband, and parent to their children are the titles they claim, and it is these titles they wear most proudly. Who they were is no longer; who they are now is Clan Feldspar.

Following Mergo and Penumbra's mysterious disappearances, Dreamweaver was confronted by an agent of Atsushi's master, a mercenary by name of Argus. He told them of his employer's plans, or what little he knew of them, and Dreamweaver revealed to him that their adversary was none other than a piece of themself—the darkest part of them, the nightmare they had brought with them from the dreamscape and expelled in order to live among dragonkind.

They had tried to destroy it once, long ago, and had spent all their ages in Sornieth believing they had succeeded. With its return to power, they had only one option: to accept it back into themself, and retreat into a self-imposed exile.

Once Argus and Atsushi had enacted their rescue plan and seen their people safely away, Dreamweaver faced the nightmare alone, in the place where they had parted, and forcefully returned it to their heart. Then, exhausted, and miserable in the knowledge that they could never return to their clan, they lay down in the dirt to die.

The Lightweaver, taking pity on Her most trusted acolyte, came to them, and vowed to watch over them, so that they might continue to live among dragonkind without incident. If ever they lost themself to the nightmare, She would protect their people from them.

With this assurance, Dreamweaver returned to their loving husband and children, and began their life anew once more.
