While the Stardust Terrace has been known to attract the strangest of personalities around, Persephone may be one of the oddest to comprehend. Heralding from the Scarred Wasteland, it is in her nature to experiment with various kinds of plagues and ills. One day, amidst one of her rituals, she decided to conduct experiments with a small sample of the Shade. Believing that practicing on the border of the Scarred Wasteland and the Tangled Woods would wield better results, she left the safety of home to begin the ritual. Though she had everything under her control for a brief moment, the strange force escaped her grasp and instead attempted to drag her down into abyss, having gained much more amplitude with the ritual. Putting up as much resistance as she possibly could with her frail figure, she barely escaped, slick with the remnants of the singular force. But, disorientated with the outburst, and still injured from the contact with the Shade, she began to stumble away and into the Tangled Woods.
A scarlet cloak stained with black ooze, visible from afar, and swaying erratically as if she'd collapse without warning, those were the signals that brought alarm to Farlis, whom was near the outpost at that moment. Immediately, he rushed to help her upright and guide her to the Falls' safety. Persephone was taken to the clan's healer right away.
She was at first pronounced dead, her body having turned cold and no pulse to be felt. But a day later, she was up and awake as if she'd simply been asleep. Walking proved to be difficult at first, her already weak body severely impaired by the Shade's assault, and extra care had to be taken in her movements, her bones gone brittle and fragile, and forever impaired of flight. The Shade that had stuck to her did not disappear; instead, it began to corrode away her once snowy fur, and discolouring her until her body turned back, with only slight dabs of her old colours. Strangely enough, her wings seemed spared from this, mostly. The touch of the Shade also left her unable to feel a variety of her emotions, and makes her seem a cold person at first.
Once she had recovered enough to leave the medical ward, she was unable to return home, suffering from memory loss as to where her original clan was located. Farlis decided to take her under his wing, caring for her until she was healthy enough to live independently. Farlis became lovestruck with her, but unable to return his feelings, Persephone couldn't settle in a relationship with the other Skydancer. Despite this, they remained good friends throughout the events.
Nowadays, she continues her pagan practices, but'll never attempt anything as dangerous as the Shade experiment. Simply enjoying quiet time as a simple resident of the clan, a refuge. She uses her pagan knowledge to aid other people, but rarely opens up to others, or speak at all for that matter. Many people seem to agree that she very well may be dead, but clung onto the physical plane due to the makings of the Shade inside of her. Even if she were a walking corpse, nobody seems to mind.
