Velēda is a young Imperial born at the Molten Scar and came from the 'Moonlights beauty'. Her parents don't remember her ever being a hatchling, as she always conduct herself in a manner so unlike her age.

Only later they comprehend that she was possessing extensive powers: Velēda was a seeresses, one able to see all the strands of the future. Not only could she interpret developments by outward signs and astronomical observations; she also has a certain inward perception, the intuitive prophecy, that could be considered to be her especial gift.
