Dancing Lights

Annabel is Sovri's daughter. There is some occasional mention of two other children, who are not the adopted Jejune or Four, but questions into their whereabouts tend to result in very little insight. Asking Sovri about the matter yields answers such as this: "They are not here, and I suspect they never will be. It would be Anna, it's just the sort of thing she'd do."

Equally does Anna not talk about her mother, though a few of her closest and most trusted friends know a little more about her past, they know only that her mother died, and she was separated from her older sister. Those things have not kept Anna from embracing happily her father's unofficially adopted children - Jejune and Four, both of whom she has a close relationship with.

Anna has no formal role within the clan currently, but spends all of her productive time learning anything and everything from anyone willing to teach, or at least tolerate her watching them. There are plenty of plague dragons who would disparage her, and view her as little more than a pretty porcelain prize, spoiled and of little practical use. Anna takes great issue with this opinion and is more than happy to fight and scrape with dragons who doubt her. She tends to be extremely abrasive and argumentative towards those she dislikes and freely disrespects anyone, including her aunt, who is surprisingly tolerant of Anna's antics.
Anna is brilliant as a sorceress but has an eternally childish disposition. This makes it hard for most to determine her age. It also makes her prone to trouble. Not only does she enjoy impish and playful tricks and games- she probes at things which are dangerous, and is drawn to seek hidden knowledge and secrets. In this way, she is very much like her father, for she thinks of all the world as being for her benefit, that knowledge and power exist solely for her to claim it. She can be quite spoiled, and answers to no one but her father... and sometimes not even him.
Imperial Machine

Like her father, Anna is rarely seen without an Imperial. Howard Vihaga is a powerful machine dragon. Within the carefully crafted mechanisms is an elemental soul collected from the wind dragon who formerly tended the clan's Garden, as well as a vessel of Sovri's design. Anna was so struck by the story of the gardener and her mate that she had Vihaga made in the shape of an Imperial.

Howard is Anna's project, but she didn't create him alone. She had help from the Machine Faction and her father. She continues to make ongoing tweaks and improvements to him, forever insisting that he is "nowhere near finished". Designs for Vihaga, prototypes, and alternative parts and carapace sections can be found in in the workspace she has claimed near the forge.

When traveling she tends to ride on Howard's back. He has a greater top speed and endurance than she does, so this gives her a wide range to explore, and more trouble to get into. He is more than merely a machine. He is also a dear friend.

Arrival and the Emperor
The appearance of an Emperor in the Sunbeam Ruins attracted a great deal of attention. Even as initial explorations into the matter were being arranged, Minstri called to her brother and explained a vison she had which hinted at something of great significance about the terrible thing. This prompted him to take a personal interest in the matter, and to return himself to the Lightweaver's domain where he had been forged.

It was soon discovered that among the dragons trailing and monitoring the Emperor was a skydancer sorceress named Annabel, and she was badly injured. Discovering her blood among the ruins along the Emperor's trail, Sovri knew that it was his daughter.

The group of dragons she had been with was pinned down, trapped by the great menace as some of their number had been involved in trying to redirect the monster's path away from a particular population center. Sovri immediately sent for reinforcements and summoned to his side all of the clan's primary warriors, leaving only the Queen to defend the territory of Singing Blood.
Among these warriors were six Skinless children of Singing Blood. Powerful and trained for battle they were instrumental in both opening a path to reach Annabel and the other dragons in her company, but also in aiding in the battle to redirect the Emperor. Leavora and Lavik, Children of Nucka. Malani and Mesmeri, Children of Grabal. Paviell and Palouarn, Children of Majka. In addition to this, the king commissioned and employed two special Shattered Constructs who made up a single entity that could be wielded and directed as a living weapon, the Holy Lightbringer.

The warriors who survived the battle returned home; the King and his Daughter came with them.
When asked about the Emperor and why she pursued it, she replied plainly that "It reminded me of Dad, and I needed to find him. So I figured if I went along after it, I might find the right clues. Plus it was a pretty terrible thing, so... well worth getting a closer look. It all kind of worked out the way it was meant to, anyway, and we helped a lot of different folks while we were at it."

Wounds of Creation
Anna's well-groomed pink-peach and subtly patterned feathers are broken up in places by raw and infected-looking sores of fever pink and sallow yellow-green. The membrane of her wings is thin and green-tinged as well. The open sores lead to some trouble with infection, meaning she is almost always a little ill with something or another, but they are themselves a symptom of something far more fundamental. She is very similar to her father in many ways and reflects that her wounds are due to some imperfection of her creation. She was not meant to be here and followed her father through sheer force of will, and as a result of her desperate crawling, her body is torn and tattered.

Resultant infections are easily treated by her father, his nurse, or Siekte.
