"The twins don't spend much time in the lair. Most tend to forget they exist at all. Of course, the warriors they train know about them, but they don't really ever know them."
- Otreus, the Companion
The Cunning Brother
2.png In the words of the Companion

He's kind, gentle. Slow to anger, glacial, even. Aye. Never seen him mad. You can displease him, though. It's hard, but you do it, and forgiveness is something you'll never find. Earn his friendship and you've got something good. See - he's watchful. Nothing happens in or around the clan that he doesn't know about. Some think he's got the queens Knowing. I don't think that. I think he's just smart. He'll give you a heads up if there's trouble coming your way.

He's tricky too. Ran a few campaigns on the edge of the Tangled Wood. Gotta learn how to be tricky to do that. You spend your time watching his sister, 'cause she's got her wings buffing and jaws snapping, spitting curses. She's apt to bite you if you don't watch her. But while you're doing that, you miss the quiet one slinkin' up to you. That's real dangerous.
An Unnamed Story
The Abandoned Ones
The Twins were Minstri's first children, and like their father, Minstri wanted nothing to do with them. Though unlike their father she never laid any abuses upon them, unless you count her persistent disregard, and you probably should.

They were instead left mostly in the care of the clan's hunters, a wildclaw and a mirror of considerable ability. They taught the twins how to fight and how to hunt, but little else. The twins lived on the outskirts of the clan, few realized they were Minstri's own children. They stole from the foodstores often, behaving more like feral scavengers than clanmates. The two young dragons excelled in battle, and it became custom for other clan members to fight with or against them to test their mettle.

The brother never stopped loving their mother, but watching his sister he understood them both. His mother could not care for them. She was broken in a way he did not understand. So he knew it was up to him to look after himself and his sister.

The Loyal Ones
When the clan came crashing down during the Exodus, Minstri's children were all that remained. Them and a fourth mirror. This dragon, who came to be known just as "The Companion" was their saving grace. She learned from them how to fight, and they learned from her, not all dragons are hateful creatures.

These three followed Minstri across the world. She never spoke to them, hardly acknowledged them, but they followed. There was nothing else for them. Their loyalty was finally rewarded when Minstri came to them, and told her first stories.

The stories were her revelations, and they reforged the clan.

The Warlords
The twins became the clan's foremost fighters. They trained the soldiers of the clan, and raided nearby territories. They still live on the outskirts, but the brother is happy enough to hold a conversation with his peers.

Beyond the Queen, no other dragons hold the authority that the twins do. Those dragons who know bow their heads low when the twins pass. It is on the word of the twins that battle is signaled. Between them lies all the violent glory of the clan.
