Biography

Simoeis
Robot
True Neutral

PkKAmaj.png
Simoeis is actually a robotic replica of a guardian, created by the Lightning flight to spy on the Shadow Flight. She had a faulty navigation chip though, and after months of walking in a straight line (turning 13 degrees to the left every 20km), she ended up at the entrance to this Arcane lair. Auron took her in, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Simoeis is sentient, or at least there has been nothing to show that this is not the case. This has enabled her to live a relatively normal life in the clan, and she tries to assist the other clan members in any way possible. Occasionally this involves simple heavy lifting, unloading crates and barrels on the docks and carrying a few up to the fortress. She's stronger than the average guardian, and never tires either. More often through, she can be found working with Auron. This usually entails fetching books or snacks for him while he writes down the stories of his exploits. She also proofreads his work. Apparently she was designed with a built in dictionary database — in multiple languages.

That navigation chip eventually just shorted out and stopped telling her where to go, which is why she's stuck around in the clan. It's nice not having a feeling in your head constantly telling you where to go, so she doesn't miss it.

Due to being a robot, Simoeis doesn't need to sleep. Thus she often helps the equally sleepless Bozatrox with her work, but sometimes decides to wander the halls instead. It's lonely, but she'll sometimes spot some of the stranger clan members moving about; whether it's Minya stalking around, Sonja laughing to herself, or a glimpse of an imperial she's never managed to meet in person.

Sorrel has shown curiosity in what Simoeis's power source might be, since it'd likely either be something she'd like to create, or a great reagent for creating other things. In any case, Simoeis isn't particularly eager to be disassembled, so we may never find out. Whatever that power source is though, the fact that Simoeis is capable of sparking electricity everywhere doesn't seem to put undue drain on it, so it's likely there's some way that she recharges.

Although Simoeis might not allow herself to be disassembled, she does consent to repairs and maintenance from her clanmates. But only from ones she trusts. Not Lumisa. She's seen how that pearlcatcher treats her creations, and Simoeis isn't letting her anywhere near herself. If she needs repairs to her metal plates or mechanical parts, nobody around here is a better mechanic than Floret. She can hammer out dents and replace servos while only giving a minimal number of judgemental looks as Simoeis explains how she managed to damage herself in the first place. However, an obelisk's hands are much too large for the finer parts of her circuitry. If that needs looking at, Simoeis goes straight to Silas. He's more than small enough to get at the inside of her head, and with a bit of magical insight to how her wiring works he hasn't failed to repair her yet. No matter how many times he insists he's not qualified for that sort of thing.

Despite being welcomed by the clan, she is not fully satisfied with her current condition. Whoever created her was very thorough in creating a replica guardian, but when giving her her charge, they neglected to actually make her aware of what it was. For this reason, she is planning an expedition to the Shifting Expanse, where she hopes to meet her maker and learn what her purpose is. Other clan members have tried to advise her that it may be impossible to find those who created her, but she isn't worried. After all, she's got the famous explorer Auron on her side! If anyone can find them, it's him.

And before you ask, her creators did waterproof her. Though she is quite touched when other dragons try to find some way to shield her from the rain.

Her footsteps continued to fall in rhythm, a rhythm that was too perfect, and had gone on far to long to be natural. But Simoeis trudged onwards, single-mindedly heading towards the point that made up her entire purpose. All her sensors told her she was close, and thus she travelled on foot, to avoid missing it.

Unfortunately, that point moved again, as it always did. Simoeis was barely slowed down as she quickly corrected her path and headed towards the new destination. Within a few minutes, she was confronted by a thick patch of the forest's plantlife.

As she cut her way through the growth, the guardian confirmed once again that her target's frequent movment made sense.

Shadow dragons are sneaky and secretive. Thus it makes sense that they'd always be on the move to keep hidden.

Wouldn't constantly moving entire settlements be more work than it's worth though?

A yell from in front of her caught her thoughts short.

"Ararg, ov ar rusio! Toro!"

A score of arrows cut towards her, but bounced uselessly off her metallic scales. In response, Simoeis tried to look as non-threatening as it was possible for a dragon to do.

"Please! I'm not looking for a fight, I just want to pass through here. I don't want to hurt any of you!"

In response, the centaurs gave her another bundle of arrows.

In under a second, Simeois calculated the most efficient way of moving past this obstruction. Spreading her great wings, she leaped into to the air, managing to hold in a battle cry. The centaurs scattered, fleeing from the spot that she slammed into seconds later.

But there was no time to do anything else, the inexorable pull of her target kept her moving forwards. And so she kept walking, her footsteps in the same rhythm they'd been for months.

- Is the soul of an inventors dead daughter thrown in a robotic shell
- His project was commandeered by his superiors soon afterwards, to his horror
- Never told anyone he'd done that, so they sent her on that mission without a care
