Biography

Reina
Awakened Guardian
Neutral Evil

PkKAmaj.png
Reina considers herself to be above other guardians, for her charge is none other than herself; a revelation which enables her to act as if she had no charge at all.

She also has a bit of an ego. After all, how self-centred do you have to be to take yourself as your charge?

Not only does Reina see herself as better than others, she also sees herself as more deserving than others. Thus the life of crime. If Alder is the brains behind his criminal enterprise, Reina is the brawn, whether it's through her own might, or by enforcing the cooperation of others. Reina takes what she wants, no matter how strongly other dragons may claim ownership. Especially from Tonukk. That fool doesn't deserve much of anything.

However, Alder has instructed her to avoid violence as often as possible. Thus Reina uses mostly threats and blackmail, often implying that an accident may befall one's personal possessions. A pearlcatcher's pearl is a favourite target of hers, though there aren't many pearlcatchers Reina has any use for. Sometimes these tactics don't work as planned, as there's a number of valuable looking objects scattered thoughout the lair that nobody actually wants. Reina's found herself saddled with a number of cursed objects before, their previous owners being more than happy to give them away.

Her cover identity is that of Alder's research assistant. Not that many research assistants go around in full armour, but it's worked for her so far. Claiming that it's protection for use during weapons testing isn't the worst excuse either. At least the fake glasses make her sort of look the part. She doesn't need them, but nobody takes a researcher seriously if they don't wear glasses.

Her miniature golem was created for her by Alder, and is capable of relaying messages between itself and the partner golem Alder controls. It isn't perfect though, and those messages are often punctuated with a number of squeaky chirping noises.

As someone who works for a mad scientist, Reina isn't too big on magic. Not that she can't use it, but she prefers to use raw strength and size instead of fooling around with spells. Mostly, she uses her magic to change a room's lighting so that she looks as impressive as possible. She'll put the light behind her so that other dragons are forced to cower in her shadow, or just make it highlight the natural beauty of her scales if she's trying to be more diplomatic.

She often employs Scáthach for a variety of tasks, although the mirror is not part of Alder's syndicate. This is partially due to Scáthach's skills, and partially because she'll accept the promise of a favour as payment. Of course, Reina has no intention of returning those favours. And if Scáthach tries to get those favours by force, well, Reina's looking forward to having a bit of fun.

As one of the more physically intimidating dragons in Clan _______, Reina was an obvious choice as the model for a statue overlooking and guarding the clan's amphitheatre. (Though, as it's a monument to her almost as big as her own ego, she may have forcefully scared off the rest of the competition.) Having a intimidating statue looming over the performers was somehow agreed on to be a good thing by the dragons of the clan. It gives those with stage fright something else to be afraid of and thus takes their mind off the audience. And when it's being used for debates on clan-wide matters, it serves as a reminder on why not to impede the discussion. (Alder may or may not have installed lasers in the statue's eyes.)
